Just wanted to remind y'all that LSU has two baller gunslingers at the QB spot who were highly recruited on a national level. Also wanted to remind you guys that both are extremely talented and are both class acts. This football program is blessed to have athletes of this caliber competing for the QB position. Both of these young men will have the full support of the Tiger Faithful no matter what.

Jennings' HS highlights

Harris HS highlights

Anthony Jennings: Georgia's Best QB

Brandon Harris: Compares to RGIII?

Anthony Jennnigs Impresses at Spring Game

Brandon Harris Impresses at Spring Game

No matter how this QB battle turns out, this program will be in great shape.

The difference is last year everybody knew Jennings was the back up, so he was the next big thing. This year he had the inside track on the starting job, so Harris is the next big thing now.

If Jennings has this spring game last year, then the same people bitching would have been picking out the positives.

EVERY single year you have a group calling for the back up qb, or the next big recruit. No matter who the starter is.

Bad games happen and pressure. Last year he knew he wasn't gonna have a chance of starting over Mett. No pressure. This year, the starting job is potentially his with someone right on his arse for the job. Everyone is a little more loose when someone isn't dissecting your every move.

Basically it's when you have one guy that looks the part more then the other. And Harris just does at this point, and people assume it will get better but anything can happen.

Thank you for this thread. We could use some positivity in here. Thanks "John McCain" for the awful thread. I trust our coaching staff and whatever QB they decide to lead this team.

I wouldn't call Jennings a gunslinger by any stretch

He is. He has a good arm, he might not utilize always but it's there when he needs it. Throwing as hard as possible isn't always the best.

We also can't forget that he had surgery on his arm in his senior year:

My predictions:

1. If Jennings is the starter, Harris will be the Rant's favorite QB.

2. If Harris is the starter, Jennings will be the Rant's favorite QB.

Starting a freshman QB in the SEC . Very risky IMO.

I am VERY excited to see these two develop. I hope at least one becomes a star, FWIW I personally think it might be Jennings. BUT, neither has done anything yet. In recruiting rankings both of these guys were rated only slightly higher than JJ, and of course RS was the #1 dual threat QB. Not trying to be negative, just very grateful for our OL and running game.

We are blessed to have both of these young men in the purple and gold. The coaches will start and paly the one that is the best and they know a lot more than most of us on a message board.

Both of these players know this and both are competitors. They can compliment one another and lead LSU to some great things or they can fight one another and take the team down the drain. I think they will compete hard but support one another for a great 2014 season.

A few did. Usually the dumb arse radio call in people. And even a few on here said to start him over Mett after we lost to bama to get ready for this season.

The drive against Arkansas Jennings led last season was BEAUTIFUL.

Starting a QB that isn't as good as the freshman QB is even riskier
