Has anyone else in the country been forced to undergoing DNA swabs, having their property confiscated, and been wrongfully accused by an overaggressive and incompetent police department of a felony stemming out of a bar fight, only to have the felony dismissed six weeks later by a two day Grand Jury proceeding?
I'd bet solid money that this has never happened anywhere else.
But if you have an example, I'm all ears.
I'll hang up and listen.

(Okay, so no bar fight.)

I think most of us can agree he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He certainly could have handled those questions better but I'm not gonna read too much into it. He's back, states that Miles and the team was supportive, and will help the team down the road. Trust me, the dude regrets what happened.
He can't say much more IMO. I wouldn't say shite until well after the charge and possible suit is dealt with in court.

Is anyone else listening to talk radio in BR this morning regarding this JJ speech?
It is a full on race war.
Black callers calling in all up in arms about white callers and old ignorant arse country dudes calling in all up in arms about black callers.

People in general are more than willing to forgive someone (especially a public figure) if they just accept responsibility for their actions.
JJ should have said, "I am a leader of this team. I should not have put myself and our team in jeopardy by being someplace that I should not have been. I sincerely apologize to my teammates and the fans for placing us in this situation. Although I maintain my innocence, I accept responsibility for breaking curfew and being someplace that I should not have been. My plan is to put this behind me, learn from this mistake, and move forward to help this team in any way that I can."
Unfortunately, this is not what he said at all. Instead, he seemed to make excuses and say that he should be the starter again. This is not what the fans want to hear, and this is not the way to get the fans back on your side.

and it is a shame that anyone makes this a racial issue ...

You are acting like a RACIST!!!! He did come off as a jerk, he did not compliment JL for doing a good job. It was all about JJ. He said he would do anything to get the starting position back. Sounds to me that nothing JJ can do is wrong. If he were WHITE, would you be defending him. I think not.

Every one of the JJ hater will take his comments negatively. If you don't have an agenda, his interview doesn't sound nearly as bad as you guys are making it. He said a lot of good things. Maybe not in the best possible way, but JJ has never been a good speaker. This should allow us to move forward and focus on football. We play Florida this Saturday. If you can't move your focus there, how can you call yourself a football fan. Let the women get caught up in drama. Just watch football, drink, and everything else will take care of itself.

I think before it's over that's what it's going to turn into.

WJBO callers had gone full retard right when I was getting out of my truck. I guess it just spiraled out of control.

one thing i am impressed with here is the fact that even a majority of the pro-JJ crowd sees and acknowledges the ridiculousness of how JJ handled himself in front of the microphones yesterday ...

Right. I guess it was also racist when most whites supported Rohan Davey over Josh Booty.

Yes, he did. He complimented the entire team on doing well"
quote:
They did a great job playing without me.
He specifically complimented Lee:
quote:
"I've been supporting Jarrett throughout the whole year," he said. "He's done a great job on the field, led the troops to victory. That's what we're trained to do, and he has been doing a great job of that."

I am so glad I decided not to turn on the radio to sports talk this morning.

Heard JJ's media speech & all I heard was I,I, & I want to start. It's all about me & I will lead LSU, not JLee.As an LSU fan I can't remember ever detesting a member of the football team like this guy.Don't know, maybe it's just today's generation of kid's that someday will lead this country, scary.

I have been very vocal in that I think JJ is innocent. No one has heard anything bad about him off the field for 4 years and one night he decides to kick someone in the head? I don't think so. That is not the impression JJ has left on me.
So based off him never doing anything in the past means he is innocent?
Why doesn't everyone use this defense? "Your Honor, I have never gotten a DUI before, so clearly I am not the person that would ever get a DUI, so I am innocent."
Anyone can snap at any moment and do something that is uncharacteristic of them. It is part of being human. Some times emotions become to strong and over rule judgment.
Not saying he is guilty, but all these people that say he has to be innocent just because it isn't the type of person he is clearly doesn't understand that anyone is capable of doing anything. It is just a matter of setting that person off.
