So isn't it also insanely stupid to say that he was 2nd in the team in touchdowns and rushing yards since he touches the ball every play?
Every QB should lead (or be close to leading) his team in TDs. Every dual threat QB should be #1-#2 in rushing yards.
My point was that combining the # of carries between the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string RBs and then comparing that to the amount of carries that Jefferson got is stupid. It was when he posted it and it still is now.

Watch it JJ27 you know the JJ fan club boys hate it when you break out the logic and the facts! IF it isnt a good stat for JJ you know you gotta point the finger at Crowton or SHep or the fans for booing JJ and hurting his confidence.

There wasn't a single good stat for Jefferson last season. That has nothing to do with this coming season. If it did -- he would have been a baller last season and we probably win the NC.

Not true, he had the greatest rushing season ever for an LSU QB. 2010 rushing + 2009 passing = 2011 champs.

You just need to recognize there there is a very vocal minority in our fanbase that dislikes Jefferson because of the color of his skin. It's the same group that wanted Flynn to start over Russell.
I will agree to that to a point unfortunately but you also have to recognize there were an awful lot of fans including myself who yelled for Tyler over Sparacino and Davey over Booty and that had nothing to with skin color then just as now. The majority of those speaking out about Jefferson are tired of seeing his subpar qb play nothing to do with his skin color. Though I admit there probably a small minority rooting against him because of his skin color just like there is those rooting for him because of his skin color!

JJ is going to explode this year and deep down in ur gut you know it.

Don't have a clue bout what's best for LSU football when compared to those who have seen every minute of every practice since the Cotton Bowl and know the LSU players a 100 times better than any of us posting here...the highly successful LSU coaching staff.
That staff feels JJ is our best option.
Why don't we let last year go and just wait to see if they are right?
I mean, we can bitch for the sake of bitching if we want, but do we really have another choice?

His passing game in 2009 while decent on paper, wasn't overly impressive or timely in moving the ball. I think the OC could share some of that blame. <2,200 yds, 20 tds and fewer than 8 INT's would be impressive and could put LSU in a position to win the SEC.

Mett doesn't 240 now. Looks likes he's dropped some weight idk. We might see him and lee running the option though. Which makes zero sense at all.
short side option huh ? and GC is not here to call this POS. wonder who gets all the respect for this.

it is starting to remind me of someone criticizing our fearless president. if you don't approve of him and his agenda and POS programs, you are immediately branded a racist. i can honestly say i would have ZERO respect for jj's abitilies if he were chinese, russian, australian, indian, or an alien. respect is earned , not automatically handed out due to 3 previous sterling(hah) campaigns like jj has. has everybody forgotten how pitifully inept he was much of the time last year. if he is no better than last year, or the year before the schedule will wreck out championship hopes

Welcome to the world of Jefferson correctness!
If you dont totally embrace him your a racist and a hater!!!!!LOL

and i might also add, next year if lsu is booed with a white qb in the game, the boos are really for one of the black cheerleaders, not the white qb

I think jefferson should have been converted to a running back.
A 6'5 runningback?

LSU fans booed Matt Flynn in the '07 Arkansas game. Nobody boos Jefferson because he's black. Ever heard anyone boo a qb after a touchdown pass?

I thought his 3rd TD pass in the 1st game of the season vs. Washington with under 2 mins to go in the game was pretty timely considering we won that game by 8.
His 2 TDs vs. Miss St, the last one covering 60 yds, in our 4 pt win was pretty impressive to me.
I thought his passing/running at Ga in the 4th with under 7 mins to go with us behind which accounted for 78 yds in an 88 yd drive to take the lead with less than 3 mins to go in the game was both timely and impressive.
BTW, how is yardage gained and TDs scored ever not timely in moving the ball?

Most everyone (including opposing coaches) know that JJ usually has one read. Himself!
FIFY
Running the option successfully requires the QB to make quick decisions. Based on how he runs the option, and the difficulty he has in the passing game with (a) pulling the trigger when he should, either waiting until his receiver is wide-arse open or waiting way too long to throw (the long TD in the UNC game); and (b) checking off his primary receiver; it appears that the game hasn't "slowed down" for JJ. This is no commentary on his intelligence. There are plenty of really smart people that aren't "quick" thinkers, and it appears that could be a part of his problem as a QB.

And you think a QB with 7 rushing TDs and 600+ yds gained in a season can't make quick enough decisions to be an effective runner?
How many LSU QBs have gained more yds in a season or rushed for more TDs?

Aren't you one of the main ones that jumps up and cries foul when Rudy or Robb or one of the other fans throw up statistics to back up what they say about JJ's performance? Like his 4 passing TD's? Nothing like consistency...
