It seems that every year we hear about the ridiculous amount of talent that LSU has, but the coaching staff seems unwilling or unable to maximize it to its fullest extent.

Yeah and we always hear about Mack Brown pulling in top 5 recruiting classes out of Texas alone by the early Fall. What was yalls record last year? That's right, gtfo.

Until he impresses in a game no ones gonna give a shite.
Given the number of posts relating to JJ's offseason development, I would say that this is demonstrably false.

Just don't run it with Lee and Mett, or to the SHORT SIDE OF THE FIELD

Did he say JJ? pretty sure he just typed mett and lee.

it's not a bad play. i'm not really sure why some fans hate it so much.

It's a bad play when ran improperly. You don't have to be a football coach to know when a play is ran incorrectly when it loses yards.

Kenny Hilliard might just be the FB this year
We've had a crazy drop off in fullback play since Quinn and Hester left. I hope one of these guys can step up. It seems like an important piece to what Les wants to do on offense.

When people say this, I want to go kill puppies.

Lots of puppies.............and kittens.

It truly exposes those that know a tiny bit about football....and those that know nothing.

Its gonna be fun watching 240lb. Mettenberger running the read option next year

And Rivers should be high of 220, and maybe 230, by this time next year (6'7" and all), so imagine the eyes of the undersized CBs and Safeties for North Texas and Towson eyes get REALLLLLY BIGGG, when they see Big White Boy #1 or Big White Boy #2 coming at them at a reasonable speed.

Freak, Landry, Magee, and OBJ sound like they are all going to contribute. Big KH might just compete with Copeland. That monster class last year is going to pay immediate dividends.

Sooooooo what's this now? Praise in spring. Praise in summer drills. Praise in summer camps. Praise in
fall camp. Tangible improved mechanics and accuracy in fall camp video. Sounds like JJ is going to fricking explode.

hate to go all English teacher on your arse but he said don't run w/ lee and mett OR to the short side implying the no one should run the option to the short side while lee and mett shouldnt run it at all to either side of the field.

With 3 years of practice I have yet to see JJ (our mobile qb) run it right. It's a very simple play.

you should watch the cotton bowl then.

Yeah, we went through this last year as well. Some folks want to believe.

Will find out in a few short weeks.

Do any of you people know what a read option actaually is? Its actually a good play, abd a staple of college football Read option =/= speed option.

Thank you. I don't know if people can't read or just don't know what the hell they are talking about. I think someone reads "option" and they automatically freak out.

I thought toward the end of the season that JJ was quite effective running the read option and Masoli and Newton weren't too bad running it against us. It probably wouldn't hurt to be running it at practice either considering the number of times that we will see Oregon use it.

Jarvis Landry is gonna be an animal. All our WRs look really smooth, especially the three freshmen guys (OBJ, Landry, and Paul Turner)

La'el got popped by Ryan Baker the other day and he has been a little off since, so I think a mild concussion is about right
