JL could have thrown 3 pick sixes and hed still looked better than JJ did.

I think that JL supporters have a fundamental problem in understanding how devastating pick-6's are.

They are hands down the worst thing that can happen to a football team.

So no, unless JJ threw 2 pick-6's during the Spring Game he did not play worse than JL.

La Tech was easily the worst QB performance in modern day LSU history. Easily.

Okay, the offense not moving the ball consistently had nothing to do with Jefferson?

Someone posted earlier that the OL last year was the worst in history... did Lee not have this OL in front of him against La Tech? Do you think the team as a whole played great, or will you acknowledge that they were let down from Bama the week before?

We are not Bama. We don't have the hogs up front or the horses in the rear to grind out 2 quarters of clock on the ground. Even aside from the fumbles, our running game is not good ( aside from the occasional reverse to Shepard)

That is an incredible statement, because it is 100% true. You do realize though that, three years ago Bama wasn't LSU and now.. Are we not Bama now because Jefferson is limited though?

Dead fish is too bored to continue this discussion since he already won the debate. He is against playing a player who threw 16 interceptions with a new NCAA record 7 pick sixes in 2008 in only 8 starts, and in one start and 5 quarters of play total in 2009, passed for a lousy 40 percent completion record. In other words, his utterly pathetic performances and record speak for themselves and the facts or the facts.

Anyway, this conversation isn’t worth continuing as you two mentally deficient losers have already lost the argument. Don’t believe me, then go back and reread the last few pages of this thread.

See you later losers!

Fwiw, Lee was missing guys by 5-10yds. It was a bad night for him.

I'll leave the thread with one last thought. I'll admit that 98% of why I get involved in these JL/JJ threads is because it makes me laugh. In all honestly I really hope Lee gets a shot this weekend because after Vandy we get into the teeth of the schedule. If Lee does indeed turn out to be our guy we need to find out asap. Unfortunately I don't our coaching staff will give him that chance.

ok now reading the rest of your post

so hat he did in 2008 proves that he will only throw pick sixes in 2010? ok and in these 5 quarters you state, he played with basically no experience at all during the year, came in against th #1 defense in the nation and really wasnt bad at all. Then started the next game against La Tech where the entire team with the exception of Keiland Williams was playing off and unmotivated.

So you are happy with the way the offense looked last year? Because if you are dead set against Lee playing because all he will do is throw pick sixes, then you must want the offense to finish 112th and look putrid just like last year (We actually put up around the same total yardage against UNC as we were averaging last year).

Those who want to see an LSU quarterback, who has stuck it out and apparently impressed the coaches this offseason, get a shot at playing games instead of finishing with such lowly offensive production again are mentally deficient?

Please explain why Lee does not get a shot to play with a motivated team that isn't coming off of a hard loss. Also, why is it okay for the offense that Jefferson is quarterbacking to barely put up 300 yards and almost let the game slip away because they couldn't score, to keep continuing without giving Lee his chance?

I hope Jefferson tears the shite up and starts really scoring to put teams away. If Lee were to play and have the same result as Jefferson, then I'll be content knowing that putting Jefferson out there is the absolute best that we can do.

How bad was JJ's then? Oh wait JJ had a higher completion percentage which automatically makes him better right?

Spin it! I think you left one out, by mistake of course.
From your own link.

LSU 9yd line 15:00 2nd
Jordan Jefferson pass complete to Deangelo Peterson for 28 yards to the LSU 34 for a 1ST down
Jordan Jefferson pass complete to Russell Shepard for 13 yards to the LSU 47 for a 1ST down.
Jordan Jefferson rush for 8 yards to the Alab 45.
Jordan Jefferson rush for 15 yards to the Alab 23 for a 1ST down.
Jordan Jefferson pass complete to Deangelo Peterson for 12 yards for a TOUCHDOWN.
DRIVE TOTALS: LSU drive: 13 plays 91 yards, 06:11 LSU TD
He carried the O this drive vs one of the best Ds in FBS. Accounted for 76/91yds.

Gumps gave Lee the 20yd pass b/c it was well short of 1st.
Lee had one 7yd pass on the drive ending with Ridley TD run.
He had a 5 and a 12yd isolated pass inbetween a bunch of incompletes in drives that went nowhere.

I'm not against Lee, but for LSU. I want the best QB on the field vs our toughest oponents.
Lee will have yet another chance vs some weaker foes.

you want to know why all of a sudden the running game worked?

Lee comes out hits 2 quick passes on this defense that hadnt been done all game and suddenly they have to respect the pass more. This opens up the running game.

You could at least be honest to yourself in looking at this stuff.

JJ played well at Bama and had some real nice passes. He had over 100 yards passing at half and accounted for 145 yards of offense in the first half. He was also the first QB up until that point to throw a TD against Bama in the first half.

On the drive where JJ got hurt (our first possession of the 2nd half), Scott had runs of 4, 6 and 10 before the JJ injury. So the running game was already picking it up.

We also got SCREWED with that horrible spot on our first offensive possession. JJ clearly had the 1st down on his run and the refs spotted it almost a full yard behind where his forward progress was.

Man just thinking about that crooked game makes me want to puke.

JL wasn't bad that game but JJ was playing really well.

This is the truth.

Since JJ is apparently the man for the coaching staff this year, I hope he tears it up and can get better and better.

I had expectations coming into the year that the offense would really look more competent, and I'm very disappointed with the way the UNC game went. If the offense keeps looking like that, then I think the coaches would be foolish to not try Lee.

eta: IMO the real problem with the offense is Crowton
