This is why you cant listen to peeps full of hate. They are blinded by it. Im not degending JJ. I just like pointing out when people post bullshite. I was simply letting the guy know he didnt plau against 2s. He played against 1s,2s,3s,4,. But if you on the 2deep. You are a starter in our D.

So you think all our backups are equal to our starters? So when they scrimmage it is no advantage for the players who are considered #1 DL to be going against the #2 OL? No advantage for a qb to be throwing to the #1 WR's versus the #2 Db's over the #1 Db's versus the #2 Wr's?

Check the tape and see who was in the secondary on Mett's touchdown.

100% without a doubt I believe he could, but only 1-2 on here actually thought he would be given the chance to do so. JJ is the starter because he's been here for 3 years. Don't believe me? Ask JJ, it's in my signature. That being said, it's over and everyone needs to just get behind JJ. Mett could complete every pass in practice from here until 9/3. It wouldn't change the fact that JJ will be the starter.

How did QB Transfer Matt Mauck do in his opener vs. Virgiania Tech?

Not all, but most. Yes. Especially dline and dbs. Hatcher was a starter at safety last year. now he doesnt even play the position. Its not a hard concept. Ill state that simon will start over tyrann, but tyrann will play more snaps.

The bar isn't high for SEC qb's. I wouldn't expect him to do any worse than the QB for LSU last season. Seems some of you were enamored with his play.

It's a moot point. JJ will start and play until injured. Period.

Oh so Mauck had a poor game so I guess it is impossible for Mett to have a good one? I guess no juco transfer in the history of college football ever had a good first gaem?

Isn't that like saying it's impossible for JJ to have improved this summer because he didn't improve in past summers?

Yet there are haters that say he couldn't have improved because "they have heard this before".

Not really we have a history on JJ. We dont have a history on Mett other than he performed well before he got kicked off the Ga team and very well in Juco, He is not the same person as Mauck

So history ALWAYS repeats itself? It NEVER changes?

ETA: Yes I have heard the saying "History repeats itself". But the saying is NOT "History ALWAYS repeats itself."

Why would you want to throw away the season, like Saban did in 2002?

There are reasons too numerous to cover, as to why Senior QBs with actual game experience are coveted.

Wow talk about altering facts to fit your argument. That was a 1 loss LSU team that blew out Florida. The season wasnt lost till Mauck got hurt

He did fine. How many Cam Newton types have been at LSU - ever? Perriloux maybe...and?

Newton 9/14 186 13.3 3 0

Other than 3 TDs... not great and that was against lowly Ark. St.

So Mett = Mauck because he's white? Mett's arm is 10x that of Mauck. We'll see it on display in 2012.

Arkansas State is in the Sun Belt. They finished higher than ULM. JJ's stats against ULM? 4/10 51 yards 0 touchdowns 0 interceptions 3 carries for -4 yards rushing 0 touchdowns.

Yeah, because I'm the one that compared Mett to Mauck and Newton to Perriloux... I definitely think you're on the right track though, just have the wrong poster.

Ok. There has been an exceptional amount of stupidity and bitching in this thread - even for a QB thread. In an attempt to sift through the garbage, here is what I have discovered:

-Rudy and Geaux Tahel should not be allowed to post in JJ/QB threads for at least 12 months

-Roger and Roaad are significantly more objective than the goofballs mentioned above and create a more logical, less childish debate

-Given the context of the question and answer session, JJ did not sound cocky with his response and it is ignorant to let it bother any of you

-If anything, JJ did sound defensive in his response, and although it is not what they PR coaches at LSU want him to say, it was a normal response for a 21 year old to say given the flack he has taken - deservedly so at times

-He does not need to set the world on fire in 2011 with the talent that surrounds him - 60th rated QB or better will = NC in my opinion

-It is a myth that the vast majority of the Rant can "never be happy" - although some people will always bitch, most will accept a decently improved 2009 JJ because that will mean lots of wins in 2011

-JJ is the starter SOLELY because he is better than the 2 guys that back him up. Not because of seniority (JL has a year on him), not because Mett never got a chance - simply because JJ gives LSU the best chance to win

A Ron Zook coached Florida team. Which games did Mauck actually quarterback before his injury?
