Jay can see the future. He threw the way he did on Sunday to make sure his pitchers got work and were put in tough situations. It’s all to benefit us down the stretch. He threw that game so Evans could realize his true potential.

Ha. JJ knew he had an ace in hole with Evans and figured LR would be throwing warm up pitches by that point. Where i thought he over reached was starting Cowan. Cowan had not started a game all year and it backfired horribly, it was a terrible call. I'm thinking the thought process was that Cowan would be OK, then Evans would come in after throwing way nastier stuff, throwing the trojans off even more and we would have tons of runs anyway. Looking back, you probably just dominate that game if you start Evans. Take out that one fluke inning and all the web gem plays from LR and that's a 15-0 game.

He knows his team better than anyone, I’ll agree with that. And he wants to win more than anyone that posts on this board. Its hard to get every decision right but he gets a lot of them correct
