Have you watched any of the games or are you just looking at stats? Several posters have provided really good analysis of what is going on out there.

oh shut up. He is on a bad franchise. Not team. Franchise and there IS a difference. No damn support, no front office worth a damn that can get him help. Coaches that have never been in the pros before. No development, no decent qb coach. I told you guys when he was drafted this would happened but no one wanted to hear it because being the first pick made LSU look good. He's on a team that sucks and he knows it. If I were him I'd be demanding to be traded or cut loose in the off season. It would be worth the pay cut to his career to get off that team.

Moss did it, Jeff Garcia just did it, and I am sure sapp wanted to hurry up and get out of dodge. It is not the place to be to reach your full potential. Do people think any less of these three because they wanted out or to be released?

Whatever dude. Bad franchise my arse. That's a bad excuse. Yes, I watch the games. And yes, he has two rookie receivers. I get that. What I'm saying is his mechanics are so poor. Big arm, no accuracy. He looks lost out there.

you're an idiot.

See Bret Favre when he was at Atlanta and had an idiot coaching staff.

JR was behind from day 1...that holdout hurt him more than helped him IMO...it put his development back a year...and it made expectations for him much higher.

I hated to see Randy Moss leave the Raiders just after JR was drafted...JR could have greatly benefitted having him in his receiving corps.

I'd really like to see him turn it around...I'm just not very optimistic at this point.

2003: 4-12
2004: 5-11
2005: 4-12
2006: 2-14
2007: 4-12

Russell's first season
2008: 5-11
2009: 1-3

But you're right, it's not the franchise that's bad, it's Russell. They were having loads of success before he came onto the team and then single-handedly drove them into the ground.

The Raiders suck! I'm the first to admit it. Lots of problems out there in Oakland. There has been for years.

All I'm saying is that Jamarcus looks lost. He's missing open recievers badly. He's so overwight he can't move in the pocket, continues to make poor decisions, etc. After 3 years, and the millions-upon-millions he's making, one would expect more. Well not more, but a lot more than the way he's currently playing.

You know what fixes that? Coaching. Russell was perfectly developed for a college quarterback but that's all he is. He has to have help in order to transition his game to the professional level and no one has offered him that. His coaches, rather than help him, have thrown him under the bus to save their own sorry asses.

You expected him to be the savior of the organization and so his production doesn't meet your expectations. Many of the rest of us knew as soon as he was drafted that he was going to struggle in Oakland. Now it appears obvious that he won't go anywhere until Al Davis dies or he gets traded. Whichever comes first.

And don't give me this "It's because of the Raiders.

I was in Reliant today on the 40yd line...and it is because of the Raiders. They have zero offensive line...zero running game...zero receivers...absolutely nothing for Russell to work with. They have a new coach who is clueless and an owner who should have been committed long ago. The Raiders Suck...period...end of story. Hopefully JR can get the hell out of Oakland before it is too late.

JR is the best qb to play in the NFL today. There I said it. If you can live in your dream world where one player makes a team and blocking doesn't matter then I can live in mine too.

I wonder how Elway would've looked it if he had stayed on the Colts back then.
