Not to be negative, but coming into today Smart was scoring 9.9 pts on 30% from the field in SEC play. He isn't deserving.

TENN has a guy come off the bench who is averaging 15 a night on 47% shooting.

It's hard to know, because I can't find anything that specifies 6th man stats. I'm just thinking that it's unlikely that Smart's overall numbers are better than every other 6th man in the league. He might have the highest scoring average off the bench, and he might not, but he's been rather inefficient from the field for being in consideration for an award, I would think.

If he plays like he did today, down the stretch, that would change things.

Bowden is averaging 11 from what I’m seeing. But yea, he is probably the front-runner.

He’s definitely in the conversation but the future looks BRIGHT. Smart, Days, and Williams will do big things for this program. I hope we can actually hang on to them for a few years. Marlon Taylor has one more year as well , he’s too raw to enter the draft but would possibly get drafted late 2nd based off pure athleticism and upside. If Taylor develops he might end up beings a super star, but as of today he’s just an exciting wing with a decent catch and shoot. He’s probably what Jr Smith would have been had he played college ball.

Willie Sims.

That is the guy I was thinking of but couldn't remember his name.
He led us to a victory over KY when the starting five had fouled out.

So what did LSU coach Will Wade think of Smart’s technical?

“I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but he liked it,” Smart said with a smile.

“I liked it,” Wade said later. “It gave us some pop … it gave us some energy.”

“It actually gave us some momentum,” Waters said. “Most definitely, it gave us a boost.”

He's been a bit too inconsistent IMHO, but when he's on he's A MUTHA!!
