he likes to run the ball?
quote:
Florida LB Ryan Stamper
On the play of the defensive line ...
“I just think we did a great job covering. Their quarterback wants to run the ball a lot and we noticed that. If we got good pressure on them we knew he would want to run the ball a lot, so we knew that we would get a lot of chances to sack him.”
That is what the opposition said.
Go tell the other dc's that we play against that JJ doesn't do this.

That's a really detailed response from the president of the fan club
The fan club?
You can go to YouTube and look at videos of him passing the ball downfield, or you can shut up. Your call.
Hell, maybe you even watched the miss st game the other night and saw him throw two good touchdowns? Or were you shielding your eyes?
quote:
so far, Lee at least shows more ability (willingness?) to throw downfield.
How did lee look in his last two outings?
Bama and la tech?

It is actually something he does pretty well.
Yeah, to the other team.
When the quarterback is playing an injured Louisiana Tech team, in Tiger Stadium, at night, you are expected to do better than 7/22 for 100 yards. That is just bad. 2 of his passes should have been intercepted and run to the house. This was supposed to be a rout and Jarrett Lee kept the game close, not executing his passes, making terrible reads, not knowing routes, staring down his receivers. And when he has 5 seconds in the pocket with virtually no pressure, he throws the ball away and gets intentional grounding. That last outing nearly cost lsu the game.
Maybe lee got better? But you're going to sit the starting qb to see?

If JJ had not held the ball as long as he did all year, the O Line may have looked better. With that being said, both quarterbacks had deficiencies in their games that are coachable. Let’s all hope that some of that has occurred this off season.

I've always had a soft spot for Lee. He has tremendous talent and his throwing touch is wonderful. All he ever really needed were some tricks to be more deceptive. (A pick is easy if everyone on the field can see what he will do.)

Haha what?
This thread gets dumber by the minute.

he (JJ) has the tools to be a great passing quarterback.
that's great....you know., if I went to Sears and bought all the woodworking tools they had.....I still wouldn't be worth a shite as a carpenter if I didn't know how to use them

But what if you were a good carpenter but had shitty tools (o-line). If the following year you went out and got new, top of the line tools (running game/o-line), it would be safe to reason that your carpentry skills would improve....right?

OK you wanna give one of these guys the ball down 10 to bama. Forgive me if i am wrong but didn't JL come in the bama game with the lead with 10 mins left?

Facts do not matter in these threads

Rumor has it that some offensive staff members are campaiging for him to get serious playing time
Not only the staff, but you can add players in that as well. They have a lot of respect for Lee being the fact that he has stuck it out so far when he no doubt could have hung it up and transferred out of LSU. He has always been known as a very good practice QB. Not saying he should get a chance to start or not, but if Jefferson struggles early, then let the games begin.

If practice counted towwards the real games, Murphy would be a heisman candidate.

Rumor has it that every time his cleats walk within the white painted lines of a football field, he throws costly interceptions which cost his team the game/ serious momentum.
just sayin

Don't take what I said out of text. Saying the same thing you said, you just said it using Murphy's name. I have no faith in Murphy either when it comes to doing it on the field, because he like Lee has not done it yet. Although, Lee has been on the field a little more.

There is no other reason for anyone to claim so far that he is better than Jefferson.
I don't agree that it is a 'white' thing, but you are right, JJ has looked better in every game, he has poise, does not throw int's and can scramble. Holding onto the ball too long will improve with experience and hopefully a better OL.

Until i see him slinging the ball to the right spots and putting up halfway decent numbers, my only image is that LA Tech game; which was dreadful
Did you miss the offense being ranked at 113th? Thats how you define dreadful

this is what I have the biggest prob with.
JL should get EVERY opp to start, which begins right now and goes through fall camp.
If JJ outperforms him and is the clear cut better qb as so many of you want to believe....then fine he keeps his job.

what a football idiot.. if you think jj will lead us to the promise land you need to watch another sport. jj doesnt have the talent to be a second string sec qb.. he needs to play division 2.... lee is ok and at least has some ability to read defense...just needs proper coaching which he is now recieving...jl will at least play to win..jj plays not to make a mistake..
