There are plenty of 'overweight' QBs that can throw it to their players. JLs weight has nothing to do with his ability to read defenses.

This is how these threads go:
Well, actually he's arguable the second most accurate passer at LSU in the last ten years.
Insert facts showing that Jefferson has third highest completion percentage and the lowest interception total of any starter since 2000.
Actually, Jefferson threw for the exact same amount of yards per game last year as Lee did in 2008.
Insert facts showing that the difference in passing yards per game between Lee and Jefferson is .2
Actually, Jefferson had more completions of over 25 yards last year than Lee in 2008 and Flynn in 2007.
Insert facts showing Jefferson had more 25+ yard completions than both Lee and Flynn.
Actually, teams played way off the line against in 2009 because of our inability to run the ball. Our offense was consistently facing 5 or more DBs
Insert game film of teams consistently playing a nickel and dime packages against us, even on early downs.
Right, but if you substitute our 2009 rushing game with 2008's rushing game. We average nearly the same amount of yards per game in both years and have a much more efficient and effective passing game. That doesn't even take into account how much easier it is to throw against a defense that has to stop the run (2008) compared to one that doesn't (2009).

JJ Basher: He sucks. He's the worst QB ever. He can't even play Division II ball.

Perfect
Eta:I've also noticed 112th ranked offense slipped to 113th this week. Maybe next week it'll be 114th, and so on?
It keeps getting worse!!!!

I just hope whoever plays qb this season does well And leads LSU to the championship

Then name 1 deep ball Jefferson has hit on except for Shep in the spring game???? He misses so many deep balls its unreal. Thats the point I'm making. He MISSES OPEN WRS DOWN THE FIELD. YOU CANT argue that one.
Here's your deep ball - short memory??
39 yard completion - longer than anything Lee had against a La Tech team that finished 4-8. Lee had a 38-yarder against Tech, but it was a five yard pass that Lafell took for another 35 yards.
And one more for good measure
Third to last game... Yes, this was a debacle. Jefferson took a totally dumb sack, the coaches blew it even more by not calling timeout and they blew it again by not having their team ready in case Jefferson completed the pass. It was a great catch, but the throw was surprisingly accurate for how long it was. He threw it 52 yards and LSU gained 43. You can't ask for more than that.

i just had this crazy thought. what if neither of our QB's suck ? what if they have both matured and developed coming into their junior years ? and what if the OL actually is better this year ? we can run the ball ? what would that be like ?

Here's a question:
Do the coaches let the players call time out?

Here's the only thing I entered this thread to say: Jefferson supporters cite QB statistics to show that Jefferson is a good QB, and Lee supporters cite team statistics to show that Jefferson is a bad QB. One analysis is far more accurate than the other.
I didn't enter this thread to point out the hypocrisy of Lee supporters' inevitable argument that Lee's pick-sixes aren't his fault; they are his team's fault. That was just lagniappe because I was bored and couldn't sleep.

I have every reason to believe that both Jefferson and Lee improved since last season. Hard work, maturity, and study have an inexorable tendency to make players better.
I don't hate Lee. I think he could be a very good QB this year. I will do nothing but support him if he enters the field.
I just don't like Lee supporters very much, or, more accurately, I don't like their ludicrous and moronic arguments, as well as their blind bias, baseless assumptions, and intentional obtuseness when it comes to facts.
Go Jefferson. Go Lee. Go Tigers.
Go Lee supporters . . . and keep going until you get to Gumpland.
(That really is the absolute best emoticon ever!)

Try this reason on. The ONLY games that JLee lost were to top ranked Fla, Ga, and Bama
JJ lost to unranked Arky and Ole Miss, along with ranked Fla, and Penn St
LSU should never lose to unranked opponents, if they want to be respected
Actually, Lee started against Ole Miss in 2008 and lost that one too. It was 21 - 3 before he got injured toward the end of the first half. I do believe they were unranked at the time as well. Jefferson threw our only TD in that one.
Jefferson gets the L for Bama last year too. Of course, it was a great game when he got injured, unlike Ole Miss in 2008.
And by the way, remember that game against Troy that we were losing 31-3 near the end of the 3rd quarter? It was Jefferson that finally got us in the end zone on 4th and two and kept the game alive for us. Otherwise, it was over right there. Lee gets credit for the win, but JJ got the comeback started.
JJ is credited with the loss to Arkansas in 2008, but he threw 2 TDs and led us to 30 points in three quarters. That game is on the D. They blew it.

let me tell you what matters or at least what is painfully obvious to me..
There are more people on here that the biggest compliment they can give JJ is to beat on JL.
Thats a fact... and its pretty fricking sad.
I dont give a shite what JL did two yrs ago.
I dont really care what JJ did last yr.
IMO neither one is much better than the other, they both have experinece now, no excuses to be 112th this season.

I tell you one thing...... somebody or several somebodys on this board is gonna look pretty fricking stupid or pretty smart in a couple months.
In JJ's case he better pick the pace up from where he left off this spring (which many of refuse to mention) b/c for some reason or another to you guys its totally irrelevant.
In JL's case... IMO all he has to do is show that he can protect the football.
