Agree completely
and having Schambria coming off the bench to hit for Stephenson like he did Sunday will be huge if it comes down to it in the future.

I think for now Laird has lost his spot bc of injury. Foster will probably get it in right with Stevenson and Raph. Depending on how well he does, that will determine if Laird makes it back in. Sucks, but CPM is huge on Stevenson's defense. Would assume come Omaha Laird might be back out there regardless of what Foster does though.

Laird is faster and would've made the play. Foster absolutely deserves to start. With the size of the field in Omaha, don't be surprised if Laird and Stevenson are both in the lineup.
All three cannot play. Not enough spots. I'm sure there'll be some rotation in there for Laird and Stevenson.
Also, it's not just speed to get to that ball. You have to have a quick reaction and take good angles. It's possible Laird makes that play, who knows. We know at this point they are both very good defensive outfielders.

That's why I say Foster starts now, but the field is so big in Omaha don't be surprised if Laird and Stevenson are in the game.

Gotcha
I think Foster should start regardless. He's earned it. The dude is batting a shade under .400 and it's not like he only has 20 ABs.

One thing is certain, no other outfielder would've made that throw to save the game. Foster deserves to be in the lineup.

No doubt. He's easily got the best arm which is why right field is perfect for him.

I'm fine with letting Stevenson start games, and play as long as we're winning or it's still early in the game. If it gets late in a game and we need some production at the plate I think we need to see Foster hit for him.

This. Both are at least equal speed wise.
Foster:
Hitting
Arm
Laird:
Fielding
The drop in Fielding between Foster and Laird is not as significant as the difference at the plate.
