I was at the game.

And he was wide open multiple times on drags across the field. Burrow went deep to Jefferson each time.

Take what they give you.

If Jefferson is covered by a Safety that’s 15yds off the LOS, the ball is going to him every time.

They left JJ 1-on-1 with a backup safety. JJ beat him all game.

Oklahoma schemed to stop Chase.

It was actually a decent gamble with their personnel - CEH was very limited, Curry (and frankly, at this point, neither TDP or Emery has emerged yet) doesn't present the receiving threat that CEH does - Jefferson doesn't present quite the physical mismatch that Chase does, so help cover Chase, and make Burrow beat you with passes to the others.

So, he did.

I remain impressed and probably will the rest of my days with the amount of pressure this offense has been able to exert on half a dozen high quality college defenses this year.

Drop back? Joe will either find the open guy - eventually - or make a positive play with a scramble. Blitz? Either the hot route (CEH or Moss), or, again, scramble to beat you. Play it straight up? One of the 5 receivers will get open, make the catch and probably some YAC.

We did it to Florida, Auburn, Bama, aTm, UGA, OU - the opposing team is irrelevant, particularly around the mid-way point of 2019 - it has been ones on nones (to steal Joe Brady's phrase).

I'm trying to stay in the moment, but I was semi-stunned after Texas. I've been completely stunned after Bama.

Drive after drive. Touchdown after touchdown.

He was covered like flies on shite all night and sometimes double teamed. So Burreaux went to his other weapons. Worked to perfection if u kneaux anything bout football.

Lsu used two important decoys worked well all game. Lsu took out other decoy at half time and let the other running backs do their thing.
If u pay anything to LSU at all or just one thing, burrow tells his guys the message they need to hear and it worked. Did u follow all that?? If not well I can't help ya, good luck buddy

It was a classic example of the defense taking the #1 target out of the fans with double teams. The problem with doing that against LSU is every reciever would be #1 at basically any other school.

All the while, Jefferson had himself a Helluva game. The entire offense did.

Chase still had 60+ yards AND was a major factor for the D to acct for when he lined up in the backfield.

Also, Chris Curry looked punishing

Jefferson was covered by a backup safety. think about that. a backup safety. Starting safeties aren't good enough to cover Jefferson. When a backup is in, you test him until he stops you or the game is over. that's what we did.
