He's not in the league anymore but he should give money to kids in BR to win over morons who wouldn't like him anyway. And he does plenty of stuff in the community in Mobile.

For real, its an LSU message board, he saw Jamarcus, who is overweight. He made a joke. Its not a HUGE deal. He didnt say he wishes eternal pain and misery on him. And yes, even ex LSU athletes can get fat. Im sure his own family has told him he's fat, doesnt mean they hate him. Some of you guys are over the top.

Damn, TH is catching some heat from Jamarcus knee bruisers... He had everything sitting right in front of him, yet he let it all go to his head and eventually lost it all...

I loved the guy while at LSU, but what else can you do once you become the biggest bust in NFL history??? You laugh...

Speaking of laugh

You love you some JR. Just because be played at LSU doesn't make him untouchable

My comment has zero to do with "loving me some JR", as honestly, I'm pretty apathetic about his current situation. I am very thankful for him though, and the way he represented LSU while on it's football team. See, I wasn't good enough to play college football, but I really enjoy watching it, and JaMarcus played for the team that I love. He played well. It's pretty simple - I'm thankful for his contribution to many happy Saturdays in my fall seasons a few years ago. Why would I enjoy seeing a guy like that not do well later on?

But for the life of me, I'll never understand people that get their jollies/talk crap/make fun of/enjoy people failing.

I honestly do believe their are certain litmus tests that speak to a person's character, one of those being those that anonomously dog someone else's failure. It's just really, really, I don't know...small?

I'm not recalling any sort of QB controversy from that period. Jamarcus was one hell of a college talent.

The dude played football at LSU. He was pretty damn good. #1 draft pick that was a bust. He got fat. I made a joke about it.

I never said I wished anything bad on him or that I enjoy his failure. I honeslty wish nothing but the best for him. But the fact is right now he's way out of shape to even be thinking about football

Hey Treb, it's cool.

Was mainly aiming at the guy that I quoted in my last post.

I know what you said was just a joke.

Read the article that was posted. I love how people here spout off ignant shite:

quote:

Unbeknownst to many, Russell has given generously to his hometown of Mobile. He’s paid for turkeys at Thanksgiving food drives, bought supplies and library books for local schools and uniforms for local sports teams, underwritten the renovation for his church, built ramps for wheelchair-bound residents and rewarded kids with straight A’s with bikes, MP3 players and GoPhones. Russell says: “If I do go broke, it’s going to be from providing for my neighborhood and my family.” So why isn’t his charitable work better known? “My business is my business. That’s how I prefer it. I gotta look up to God. I don’t gotta look out to no damn news cameras!” Russell’s reputation as a “Santa Claus” of Mobile (in the words of a barbershop denizen at Maysville) contrasts sharply with the rumors that dogged him in Oakland. Russell also addressed those with Wertheim:

You mean Jamarcus is giving back, not because he wants to repair his image, but because he WANTS to give back?

He wasn't a far better QB he was just blessed with an arm that could throw the football 70 yards from his knees, in fact it has become quite obvious that mentally Flynn was always the better QB he just didn't get the 24/7 lovefest from ESPN
