I agree that Jacory Harris has looked very good the first two games of this season. Watching the games, the first thing that jumped out at me was the play of his OL. They give him all day to pass. In addition, they have been effective running the ball, which is any QB's best friend.
However, the less obvious answer to why he looks to be ahead of Jordan Jefferson is his offensive coordinator, Mark Whipple. He was the QB coach with the Steelers responsible for developing Big Ben.
Crowton looked brilliant when he had established QBs, but he hasn't adjusted well the past two seasons with young QBs. I just don't see the improvement that I was expecting with our QBs, and most of that responsibility falls on the shoulders of Crowton.

just remember that the season is young for LSU and that GT might have been Thug U's stiffest competition left on the conference schedule so they needed to open the play book up and take some shots ...LSU didn't need to yet but were drawing closer to it

Why would you wait until you are playing harder competition to try new things? Did you ever think they are trying them and they are not working? I'm sure LSU would have loved to work on those plays while winning by impressive margins. Maybe they are holding back but I don't recall a team ever doing that.

miami will get blasted by OU IMO FWIW.

The Bradfordless Sooners...maybe. They're beatable though.
Two things...G-tech has played 3 games in 12 days, they were gassed from the start. Second, Jacory never got his uniform dirty, having all day in the pocket will make a lot of Qb's look good.
Hat tip to their offense though, it's fun to watch.

Miles and Crowton aren't holding Jordan Jefferson back, the blocking by the offense is. If Crowton thought the o-line could hold its blocks long enough to allow for longer passes, then I guarantee you LSU would have thrown down the field more often the first two games. Also, the blocking by the receiverson both short passes and running plays has left a lot to be desired. LSU has got to become more physical as it heads into SEC play.

Ok..if I'm being honest....Jacory Harris appears to be MUCH better than JJ. Just my observation/opinion. To each his own.

Harris looks better now but he was also playing a lot earlier last year than Jefferson, splitting time from the start.
eta: I also don't think Jefferson sees nearly as many open receivers as Harris has this year.

I think that Crowton is a better OC than Jimbo Fisher in every way except as a QB coach. Flynn was already good and had solid fundamentals for the most part. Lee didn't improve any. JJ has been solid but his throwing motion still needs work. He'll still throw a ground ball or two every game.
The good news is that both Lee and Jefferson are young, so maybe Crowton will prove me wrong and end up developing these guys into great QBs.

Jacory Harris is a little better, the SEC is better than the ACC, and Miami's OC is better than Crowton.

Watching both of them, it would appear that Harris' reins have been taken off far sooner than Jefferson's. And that Harris is ahead of Jefferson, to be quite honest. Why do you think this is?
I disagree

UM is more desperate than we are... we are hiding most if not all of our O, UM is still learning how to win again... all they had to do to win over GT tonight was to watch the LSU bowl game videos... acc sucks, is horrible/awful/totally useless, and WILL be passed by MTNW and/or CUSA within 1-2 years without a COMPLETE freakin' turnaround!!!!!...

You would have a good point except for the fact that JJ hasn't played against the SEC cept for one half against Arky last year and Vandy. JH looks like shite throwing the ball but he has gotten it done against two good teams. I will withhold judgement on whos better until JJ throws more than one ball 10 yards past the line of scrimmage in a game

Jacory Harris looks better than any other college quarterback I've seen so far this year.
41 for 59
656 yds
5 TD's
2 INT's
Canes sitting at 2-0.
I'm very interested to see what he'll do against Va Tech's stingy defense.

Still though...I don't there's any denying that Miami is on the upswing right now...and that this team can very much contend in the ACC this year.
Wouldn't be surprised to see you and VT playing for the conference title

Uhhh, JJ is somehow not developing?
JJ is running for his life now AND NOT throwing int's.
The guy is doing fine.
The OL is not.

I agree
Harris looks like a better passer to me.
