Some of you all are nuts. If our WR's did not drop perfect passes he would be at 80% completion percentage. The only time in the last 20 years we had a QB this good and efficient was in 2001.

anyone have any idea what that might look like minus all the drops?

I see no room for complaint. hes done what's been asked of him thus far.

at the end of the day, we can all agree that he needs to improve. having said that, if you've watched all the games, you have to admit, some of the throws he's made have been NFL type throws. he's only started 3 games, and the pass protection thus far has been so so. i think by mid season, he's going to "hit his stride".

Im not saying he cant make completions. Even with the drops, a lot of credit needs to go to the receivers that make adjustments to be able to make the catch.

I was just hoping for a passing offense not in the 100's. We currently sit at 96th.

He doesn't HAVE to pass. LSU leads the SEC in rushing and scoring offense.

He's averaging more yards per game than McCarron, bro.

Wow, 3 games and you've got him pegged, huh?

You must be an NFL scout.

How many SEC teams have they played? How many legit defenses have tried to stop the run?

Who is the elite? Barkley looked pretty pedestrian Saturday. It is redundant to say but I think he'll improve as the season progresses. I believe he will learn from his mistakes.

My only concern is protection. The guy can throw it around.

what makes you say that? it's been 3 games and he has a 72% completion rate and has shown he has a huge arm. he's also made a variety of different passes and spreads the ball around. how can you say right now that he's not elite? I'd wait to reserve judgment until we've played some more games and against good opponents.

How many of those 72% have been within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage? My guess, an educated one since I have watched every game, is the large majority.
Yeah, he should demand longer passing plays.

since the first game, not that many. he's averaging almost 10 yards per attempt. that is very good, and you don't accomplish that by only throwing 5 yard passes

I haven't really noticed this happening very consistently.

So a reciever that has to stop to make a catch or out jump a db, or make a one handed catch isn't noticable? Seems the ones they drop are the ones that hit them in the hands
