so bcs games and michigan and at texas aren't big games? how bout at penn state last year? the only game we should be embarassed about is the 06 fla game. dont blame a young team for losing to a good two loss lsu team. imagine if lsu was thrown into the title this year against texas, and then dogged on for losing by two touchdowns.

We tend to think it's "your fault" for not having a Conference Championship Game.
We tend to think it's "your fault" that Jim Delaney obstructs a BCS "FinalFour" type Championship.
We tend to think it's "your fault" for not playing very good football as a Conference, but expecting an ongoing exclusive with the Rose Bowl.
We tend to think it's "your fault" for sucking out loud as a Conference vs the Pac10 in the Rose, but expecting to remain in the MNC conversation every year.

dude...seriously? why are do you insist on deviating from the subject. we were talking about how espn dislikes lsu compared to how espn dislikes ohio state. I think every team plays big games so don't pat yourself on the back for winning a few. Im talking about how they don't want you back in bcs games because you had 2 chances back to back and got beat badly both games. You had a chance to redeem yourself this year against USC but yet again you get raped. So espn has a reason not to like you for once this year..in fact they have a duty. BTW don't use a pretty bad michigan team and a texas game from 2006 to talk about big games. lol. if i use that standard i can talk about lsu winning 3 times as many big games as ohio state. penn state was 9-4 in the sorry big 10 last year. wow what a big game...not on the level of a BCS game that we are talking about.
p.s. a young team? I don't think juniors at QB, o-line, and pretty much the entire defense a young team. What about your veteran team getting trouced at USC this year? your just making excuses now.

Ohio St. has nothing to be ashamed of.Great history,great coach and 3 times in the BCS game this decade ranks with any other school's success. That is one longtime Tiger fan's humble opinion. As for ESPN,they don't play the game so who cares,let them say what they say and we play the way we play!

very true. the only point i was making was that ohio state has not come through lately. Ohio state was loved by espn until this year. Although I don't agree with the statement that ESPN hates LSU entirely, LSU has been put down alot more than Ohio state in recent years even after winning it all in 2003 and last year. We have won it all recently and still don't get the coverage or benefit of the doubt that USC, texas, ohio state, or even florida. I'm watching college football live right now and the have talked positively about ohio state multiple times and only mentioned lsu about the referee tackle.

Ohio State has the wherewithal to substantially influence even the most "hardheaded" of Commissioners.
The fact is that OSU, Tressell, Your Players, and Delaney want to do what they can to advantage OSU in the MNC picture --- whether it is deserved or not.
Perspective from south of the Ohio River.
Ohio State would likely have finished 4th or 5th in the SEC last year, yet they played in the BCSNC. In '06 OSU would have finished 3rd or 4th in the SEC, but went thru the season touting themselves as one of the best teams ever and would have been very glad to have played one of the other "best teams ever" --- '06 UofM --- for the National Title if they could have gotten away with it. That is the mindless arrogance exemplified in Ohio State.
2008 is the year of the Buckeye?
By the way, whereas last year was not supposed to be your year, 2008 was. If you hadn't been exposed vs USC, OSU would be touting itself as yet another BIGTEN ALLTIME GREAT POWERHOUSE and the upcoming PSU-OSU contest as another BigTen game of the century.

Seriously. Total paranoia. ESPN is always playing LSU games. And aside from UGA/USC fans, no one is really bitching about the 2-loss LSU NC. LSU has plenty of respect from ESPN and college football as a whole.
