You're focusing on the wrong issue. For starters, how the frick did LSU end up with a defensive assistant coach with a 3-21 SEC record as a permanent HC after paying a huge buyout to fire our most successful HC of all time?

Whether or not he runs every decision by Pete Jenkins should be the least of your worries

Didn't Saban get advice from New Orleans DC before kicking our arse in the championship game?

I didn't want O in the first place so I'm with you bud.

No idea but that's completely different. O isn't asking for advice every once in awhile. The guy has stated that he runs everything past Pete Jenkins and that Derek Ponamsky helps with decisions as well.

You heard that correctly. A felon and radio host is helping the head coach make decisions.

Having a mentor is fine. Having a mentor who is a position coach on your staff...not so much. Nothing good can come from that.

Exactly. I worded the thread title wrong at first. This is exactly what I mean.

Coach O inherited a declining program, and except for FLorida getting a hook up and having that game moved back 1 month LSU would have been 7-1 under O last year.

Our Dline is thin for various reasons, and our Oline is thin due to LES and Coach O not keeping those guys.

Add in Miss St. having a veteran team with something to prove, refs giving them some breaks, and LSU making stupid penalties it was a perfect storm.

Coach O will show his ability the next 5 weeks. Let's see how he does and quit talking bad about the guy. Excluding Bama the SEC is not great this year. IF we win the next two and can somehow score enough to beat FLorida, then we'll open up the play book at home vs. Auburn and win and Ole has not much defense so we have a shot at 7-1.

Miles even needed a clock management mentor. Miles had to go, LSU could have made a competent hire to replace him.

Our coach is a people pleaser. Unfortunate letters to tuba players don't mean anything.

Winning is all that matters.
