If he transfers he loses a year of eligibility. He could very well be starting the second game of the schedule if JJ looks like dog poop or gets hurt. Why transfer? WHY?

Did anyone think he wasnt?

go looke at the Auburn game where he came and and brought the team back. Short memory dude-or biased.
JJ is a hell of an athlete and has a pretty good arm. It is just too soon to anoint him as the second coming of Jamarcus.
JL has all the tools, made a lot of mistakes. poor reads, but he was inexperienced. Compare his freshman stats with matt Staffords stats as a freshmen.
all I am saying is let the competition go and who ever Les thinks should be on the field is what is important and I am find with that. You have 2 kids both with talent and both dedicated to LSU. Time will tell.
On another note i don't think RS will ever be a full time QB. His future is more of a split back, WR player.

I want to see Jordan Jefferson week in and out against S.E.C. defenses before I'll declare him a certified water walker like so many of you already have. He hasn't faced any pressure yet.
BTW, Stafford, Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford looked like shite their freshman years. They threw picks galore and made a lot of mistakes.

Serious was there ever a doubt who would start?
I think we have known depth chart looks like
1. Jefferson
2. Lee
3. Shep

Ooh….this is going to make the hardcore and obsessed JL apologists like tduecen and BT go into meltdown mode.
Anyway, it is just like I figured. The competition between the both of them isn’t even really close.

For the time being. Then it will eventually change to JJ, RS, and JL. Then by next season inevitably it will be JJ, RS, CG, and JL.

All depends on development of the QB... one could never know... JL could improve enough in decision making and fill in a game and lead us to a win.
He could become stagnant in his development and have Shep/Garrett or some other freshmen pass.
All I know is I want a backup who I can trust to win 1 game and I think JL can do that.
Plus I am only worried about this year, next year with the offensive players we will lose I would be worried.

Excuse me but JL doesn’t even come close to having the physical tools those quarterbacks have and mentally JL was a basket case, as he had absolutely no poise and composure in the big games. Contrast that with JJ, who stepped up his game when he had an opportunity to play in a big game. JJ thrives under pressure, while JL melts under pressure. Plus JJ is far more physically talented than JL is.

bullshite! You have characterized all those that thought JJ should start as a JL basher!

I’ve heard from a very reliable source that CG is the real deal and that he will be a star before he leaves LSU. That same reliable source also told me that he is much more physically and mentally gifted than JL. Thus, after his redshirt year is over, it will not take him long to move up the depth chart.
I was also told that RS is a better passer than was expected as well and that he was very cognizant of where he throws the ball too unlike JL.

But he is still going to redshirt and alot can happen in a year...
Just look at history of college football, players who were scrubs year before turn into all-americans. Players who have hype never live up to it.
You never know with anything that is a year away

Maybe JL likes it here at LSU and doesn't mind the back up role. Poor guy was put through the ringer last year (unfortunately for him he did not produce). Still he is not a bad guy to have around since he does know the system and all...
