and we've only done it once in school history. What are the odds we can pull it off this season?

Kentucky W
Georgia W
Florida L
Tennessee W
A&M W
Bama
Florida
Vanderbilt

I bumped this to see how we feel now. 13-2...3 left

I'd be very satisfied with 13 wins given the schedule we have left. Anything better would be a nice bonus.

Well, to be fair, they only went from 16 to 18 conference games in the last few years or so. The 2006 Final Four team was 14-2 in conference. Team can get to 15 and drop 3 conference games. Still a hell of a gaudy record either way.

It definitely is possible, but I think it will be extremely difficult. I think 14-4 or 13-5 are more realistic. If we can get to a minimum of 13 SEC wins, we will be at worst, a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

We've been playing 18 conference games since the 60s. We went to 16 in 91 and back to 18 in 2012.

Good chance, but KY & GA on the road plus #1 TN is a tough road.

I’m more worried about Florida and Alabama on the road. Always though there

Unlikely 15 wins, with that schedule. 13-5 is more reasonable:

@ Kentucky-L
@ Georgia-W
Florida-W
Tennessee-L
A&M-W
@ Bama-L
@ Florida-L
Vanderbilt-W

Outside chance we get to 15, but more likely 13-5

Hell I'm not sure a 6 seed isn't better than 4 or 5.

Yeah, I was a bit worried about Georgia given how they absolutely torched us in the second half at the PMAC but Crean went full Paul Maneiri first year yesterday and said these ain't his players and it's his fault for keeping them. I'm sure that's not going over too well.

Just as long as we're not a 7,8,9. I don't want to play a 1 or 2 in the second round.

Oh, it was classic and he's getting some heat for it.

But PM did it over and over his first year, till our administration finally told him to stop. And he managed to survive it.

Two guys I really liked during our last few searches are now in the SEC. howland and crean. Crean is a known mega a-hole though so maybe that wouldn’t work. I’m impressed with how fast Howland has turned around State. Rick Ray had them in the gutter.

I think we drop 3 more games before the sec tourney. UK, Tenn, and Bama. I also think we go on a run and win the sec tourney.

And CPM cleaned house after that year and they started to turn things around.

What Crean said was mean and In todays world you can’t say mean things but he spoke the truth. Should he have said it? Probably not in public but he probably already lost some players before the game and last night was some frustration coming out.

In basketball you can overhaul your lineup in one year. Wade almost completely changed the roster before his first game.

Certainly, as I said he survived. Much like Crean it made it very difficult to salvage anything out of the season at hand, ours went down the toiled and so will Georgia.

Not sure what if anything is gained by saying it, truth or not.

But Maineri survived it and went on to win a title a couple of years later. Crean can survive it too.
