While I agree with both sides on many points you are all missing one very important point in all of this......MONEY.
Ratings/Veiwership is also a veriable in deciding who gets a spot. Bama isn't out of consideration unless they lose another game, period. It's not the way it should be, but it's the way it is.

I just don't think a team that doesn't win its division should even be considered for the playoffs. It penalizes divisional champions who play in a conference championship game, not only the losers of that game, but even the winners! (Ohio State 2017 was a glaring example. A 12-1 Big 10 champion was booted out in favor of 11-1 Bama who didn't even make the SECCG).

That's what worries me. They've already set the precedent of taking undeserving Bama over a conference champ with a better resume.

If anything, it should be a negative. You have practically every 5 star from Florida to Hawaii and you can’t win at home.
