to toe the rubber in Alex Box one last time. I know that he got a standing ovation Saturday, but everyone thought for sure we'd see him again this weekend. The game was already over. He didn't even necessarily have to throw a pitch. It's just unfortunate that his career ended like it did. It would have been nice to see him take the mound and let the fans show their appreciation knowing that it would be last time.

Nola, you're one of the greatest to ever wear purple and gold. Looking forward to seeing you in the big leagues soon

ETA: bolded for the idiots who lack reading comprehension skills

Ok well since you're gonna be hostile about it so will I.

Yes I read your post, and it was fricking dumber than shite. Nola wasn't going to come out and pitch last night and anyone who thought that he would is a fricking moron. Is that better?

Not real sure Nola's warm up routine. But he has never came in relief and normally starting pitchers have a much more drawn out routine to loosen up.

Obviously you didn't you stupid frick. This isn't about him pitching, but being honored for being a great tiger

ETA: He didn't even have to throw a pitch to get the recognition that he deserves

You do realize that you can't insert a pitcher into the game, and then take him out without throwing a pitch, don't you?

Actually I didn't. There's ways to get around that though

I'm pretty sure he gets the point. So what did you want, for them to put him in the game, let the fans cheer, then take him out without letting him throw a pitch?

That's almost as dumb as bringing him in to actually pitch.

Yeah, what's wrong with that? They do it in basketball all the time. Insert a player for a single play and then pull him out to get recognition.

ETA: Never thought so many people would be against honoring one of the greatest to play baseball here. Oh well

pitch? Yeah, what's wrong with that?

What's wrong is that it is against the rules. Not sure if college is different, but I am 100% certain an MLB pitcher must throw a pitch if they enter the game. I would assume college is the same.

There is no work around for that.

Just face it dude, it was a stupid idea. Nola was fantastic as a Tiger and I can't wait to watch him in the pros. I really hope the Cubs draft him so I can watch him a ton, but you had an absolutely terrible idea.

Pretty sure you're wrong about that.
