LSU punches that last one in, and the ref makes the right call on USC's non-touchdown in the first half and it looks like a blowout.

Some on here won't give credit for anything. Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
I think there's something to this. But I also think we shouldn't put too much into beating a South Carolina team destined for another 6-6 record.
South Carolina was a one dimensional offense with a good defense. I liked what we did on offense in the second half--particularly Scott and Williams together in the backfield. I liked the way the defense played in the second half as well but we were only able to do that once South Carolina abandoned the run.
A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Thus, I was dismayed but not apoplectic when we lost to Florida. And I am pleased though not ready to annoint this team as a true national contender after this win.
Still say we go 9-3

I think they had the right angle on the play at the end of the first half but an LSU defender was in the way and prevented you from seeing where the ball was the SC runner hit the ground. I strongly suspect that the ball did not cross the line but I could not see it.

quote:Agreed, but as long as we can see improvement from game to game we should all be realistic with a RS freshman QB and true freshman or 1st time starters at DB. I agree the D took a step back against FLA and I was pissed, but I did NOT believe that it signified a trend that LSU was 'in decline' as some were so shrill about. They had a bad game plan that they didn't even execute, which made a bad thing even worse.
