It takes GREAT QB play

to make it to the playoffs, much less the NCG is what I've realized this year more than ever. Our defense is always there, usually at a high level regardless of who's leading it, but any less quality of play on the part of Burrow this year would have certainly kept us from even getting to the playoffs. All four QB's in the playoffs were really good, with Burrow of course being better than all the rest. Our success next year will hinge on how well Brennan plays, so hopefully he's learned from the best!

To be fair, we probably didn't NEED Burrow to have the greatest season in college football history to make the playoff, or win the natty. But it sure did help!
Honestly, if Brennan can hover around the 65-70% mark, we'll be in good shape. He'll have some serious playmakers around him, potentially more so than Burrow had this past season if Emery and/or Davis-Price and/or Curry develope a little further. Not to mention Marshall and Chase are both back and we have the #1 TE in the nation coming in Gilbert. The only realistic question marks on Offense are Brennan and the O-Line. This team has the potential to get back to the playoff again, make no mistake about it.

Crazy thing is he’d still be throwing for like 300 ypg and accounting for 40+ tds with those % numbers . Probably still a pretty big ask.

Exactly!

The thing I think we will miss the most is Burrow's play extending ability and scrambling. He made some crazy accurate throws but we can take a hit there and still score some points. But the run plays from Burrow demoralized our opponents time and time again.

Not necessarily. Jalen Hurts wasn’t a GREAT qb but he still has a ring

And his quick throws to beat the blitz. This great offensive scheme will look very different if Brennan takes half a second longer to make a decision.

Brennan has the arm strength, and from what I’ve witnessed, he can be nimble when called upon.
What will propel him to fill Burrow’s shoes quickly is his ability to read and process defensive schemes and find mismatches. This capability is what made Burrow such an assassin.
If Brennan can understand defensive schemes as well as he understands his own playbook, the drop off can be minimal.

65-70%
You people do realize how good 70% is right?
LSU outside of Burrow has never had a 70% single season completion % QB.
JaMarcus Russell - The No.1 overall pick - was 68% complete in '06.
Mettenberger was 64.9% complete.
Matt Flynn was 56% complete.
We do not NEED Brennan to go 70% complete.

Yes, the scrambling ability and his fearlessness of just being able to step up in the pocket to extend the play just another 1-2 seconds to allow receivers to get open was huge. I'm also more concerned with accuracy over arm strength as Burrow in his own words admitted to having the great arm strength. Sometimes it's just having the right touch to get the ball over the dlinemen rushing for a screen pass pass completion where they don't need a rocket pass that's going to be hard to catch.

Brennnan will not be a 70% guy. I am hoping he can go between 55-60%.
Just because Burrow made everything look easy doesn’t mean it actually is.

This 100% this is the version of a “running” quarterback that we need. Not someone who runs every other play but that when the pocket collapses or a play breaks down they can be somewhat elusive and extend the play.
