It just smells like Alleva is either mastering this or botching it

He is not a dumb man. He must have this next guy nailed. He has had a long time to anticipate this move. Years of time to be working this behind the scene.
At first I was worried. The more i contemplate this, the more I think Alleva is going to be viewed as the savior when this all unfolds. Miles is gone. Alleva wants to be the architect of the biggest department in the Athletic Dept. He knows this will be EVERYTHING in his legacy at LSU. A chance to redeem his personal resume from the Duke situation.
I'm expecting a Gruden type of home run. Someone who will be so impressive that no one (other than the pumpers who love Miles no matter what) will question.
I'm getting excited.
Geaux Alleva. THIS IS YOUR LEGACY MOMENT!

A certain poster who only post on 247 has alluded to this exact line of thinking.

For some reason, after reading this morning's Advocate, I have the bad feeling that Alleva will totally botch it. I hope I am wrong.

You can have hopes and dreams, but there are too many HC positions open around the country.
I hope I'm wrong, but if Les is let go it'll be a major mistake. Regardless the lynch mob marching and anyone who thinks the last few years were bad, just wait as this will not go well at all.

He is botching this.
Department of Athletics and/or TAF leaking this stuff to media.
Otherwise, the only talk of this would be by rantards.
I won't sit here and talk about whether LSU and Miles should part ways, but Coach Miles deserves better than this. 100+ wins and great university ambassador deserves better than this.

This. Alleva is already botching this. The longer he stays silent, the more he paints himself into a corner.
We're already starting to lose recruits and Miles doesn't deserve this very public lynching.

If we don't think that other coaches are watching this situation and are taking notes...

Franks was lost a month ago when he realized how fast Florida turned it around and how awful LSU looked.
Miles gets a public lynching every year by the media and fanbase. The only difference this year is that he's finally paying for his stubborn BS and his retarded supporters would rather LSU sink lower and lower into the quick sand.
ETA: Well actually, he's getting paid a 15 mill buyout.
LSU needs to rip the band aid off good or bad, but I expect a lot of good.

From a recruiting standpoint, Miles has to go soon.
You can't have a "Miles will only be here one more year" directive.
Spurrier retirement rumors hurt USCe's class last year. We got Arden Key because of it. And that was without a definite date of retirement for Spurrier.
What kid will come here (other than a true tiger fan) if they know for certain the current HC/staff would only be here one year?

So he is either doing it right, or doing it wrong. Got it.
