How do you think they got to 7-1? By trotting out a freshman with a handful of innings followed by a guy with a 9+ ERA and not many more innings.

They have to. They’re not coming back from this. They don’t have a bullpen that’s serviceable, let alone deep. They have to throw whoever to eat the remainder of the innings in hopes of winning tomorrow.
