The name of Louisiana's one and only flagship university is Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College.
Unlike those at ULL, LSU alumni don't have issues with nomenclature, ours or yours. We aren't trying to make our school name something it's not (but if the school wanted, it could do so very easily btw).
There is no University of Louisiana, but there is a ULL and a ULM. Two peer institutions within the University of Louisiana System.

Apparently A&Me alumni had a BIG problem with USL becoming UL. There is now an “LSU RULE” for it. This flagship status you are so proud of. How did that come to be?

This battle was won long ago. Nobody that matters care what these goons call us. From now on, everyone that sees our brand on national TV sees Louisiana. It will become more engrained each year that passes

Sorry you're mad about your school's legal name. Sorry you're mad that the State's flagship university has much better performance, more clout and importance to the State and Nation than yours.
Try not to be so bitter, though. ULL is a perfectly fine university for Lafayette. ULL and ULM are both so important to the regional education needs of the State.
