Is this the year the offense and defense are both great at the same time?

Seems every year the offense or defense has been ahead of each other....

2014: defense was ahead of the offense
2013: Offense was ahead of the defense
2012: Defense was ahead of the offense (fairly close but young team)
2011: Defense was the standout
2010: defense
2009: defense
2008: neither unit could do a damn thing
2007: offense
2006: offense

2006 defense was no slouch, and I'd put the 2007 defense ahead of the offense... they were efficient, but there was nothing outstanding about them.

D brings the wins

D with 50 seconds to go would be nice

I would like a year of 24 point leads with 3 minutes to go

I'd wait on the "great" description until we see if we have a QB that can consistently complete a forward pass.

If Harris starts all games it won't even be close.

This is what I'm most excited to see this year. Hope we can fix those issues.

We've had a few complete teams over the past few years it just comes down to execution and winning. If LSU played OkSt in the 2011 championship, there wouldn't be any talk about that team having a bad offense.

With that being said, 2015 does have a chance to be another complete team. The only position that isn't very experienced is fullback and CB2. I truly think that the QB situation is being very overblown and that the emergence of WRs and a sustained rushing attack should hide any QB deficiencies we might have

On defense, we're loaded from top to bottom with some of the best talent in the nation. If you're not excited about this defense, then I don't know if you still have a pulse. Coach O's defensive linemen are going to set the pace and bring back the energetic, attacking mentality that we haven't had since Mingo, Montgomery, and Brockers were here.

We should be favored in every game except Alabama.

2007 was one of the best (if not best) offensive teams in LSU history

2006 is a year they were both in line, top 10 offense nationally and a top 10 defense nationally. A shame LSU didn't win the national title

I guess 2013 sucked because they gave up 44 to Georgia...
2012 sucked because they gave up 35 to Ole Miss
2010 sucked because they gave up 31 to Arkansas
2005 sucked because they gave up 30 to Tennessee
2006 sucked because they gave up 26 to Arkansas
2007 sucked because they gave up 50 to Arkansas and 43 to Kentucky

That doesn't mean the defense wasn't great.

That was a pretty much a complete team.

that team was so stacked and awesome to watch. Oddly probably the worst running game that I can remember though.

Sucks we did not win a title but it was great consolation prize getting to watch us stump that Norte Dame team. I hated that team.

It's crazy how our fans view offense vs defense. If our defense was ranked 25th in the nation people would say they are terrible whereas if our offense was ranked 25th in the nation people would be jumping for joy

I don't think Brandon Harris is going to lead a great offense as a true sophomore. Maybe as a senior he'll figure it out, but this year it would be unrealistic to expect it.

No, you've got it backwards.

If you don't have good QB play, defenses will stack the box and take away a lot of the running game. And although good WRs may bail out the QB occasionally, they can't do it nearly enough to make us a legit threat to consistently move the ball through the air.

Bad QB, struggling offense. Simple as that.
