We actually lead the SEC with RISP at .324.

It's .323, also leading the SEC, in conference games only

well that settles that

I really don't know why some of our fans insist that our hitting sucks and is the reason we've lost the games we have when we have the second to worst ERA in the conference.

Look at the thread I started when we were still down 3-0.

probably why people shouldn't start threads like that in the 4th inning of a baseball game

not sure what's going on there this year.

attrition, youth, and injuries. Lost 2 starters to draft. Lost the other to tommy john. Had to move our closer to starter. Our best freshman pitching prospect, Storz, has pitched 3 innings due to injury. Our second best freshman pitching prospect, Labas, has been hurt off and on. Gilbert clearly has some sort of injury as his velocity has been down about 5 mph from last year. And it took Todd Peterson about half the season before he started playing well.

That was going to happen whether we had Walker or not. I wouldn't call it a "had to" situation.

Other than this I completely agree.

More than likely, yes I agree. I do think if Storz and Labas had been healthy, along with Gilbert pitching as effectively as he did last year, it would have at least been a decision for Paul to make at some point in the season. I also wonder if Hilliard would have even been given the opportunity he was had things gone better with injuries.

Hilliard has been brilliant this year, everyone else on the staff, not so good.

But hitting hasn't been our downfall this year. Fielding % is down from previous years, but when you replace 3/4's of your infield, defense can become an issue.

Overall, with the injuries to pitchers, infielders, & catchers, the Tigers have been a fairly competitive team.

True, from a .980 fielding percentage last season all the way down to .980 this season.

Oh, wait.....

We are 6th in runs scored

We are 11th in ERA.

Not really much more a person needs to know when looking at team deficiencies

Threads like what? A comeback thread? You don't even know what thread in referring to.
