Is this only a one year problem?

I have been following along in the live update thread and I keep seeing this statement so I just thought I would ask to see if anyone has read all the language moving forward.
If a player declares for the draft after year 3 or 4 starting in 2027 and they don’t get drafted will they be allowed back? Is that spelled out in the new 5-5? Thanks in advance.

No it’s a one year thing. The whole thought behind the lawsuit is that the players weren’t afforded the opportunity to choose to exercise their 5th year. If you elect to leave knowing you have eligibility left, you’re forfeiting that future eligibility.

No, it will not happen. Players who voluntarily forego their remaining eligibility are different. These kids were told their eligibility was up and were forced into seeking professional careers. Everyone else post covid gets 5 years except them.

For example, if Whit Weeks had declared for the draft this Spring, he would not have been eligible to come back, because he knew he had eligibility left, and declared anyway. Just the guys who didn't realize that they had an extra year until after the draft are affected.
It seems to me that the entire reason the SEC is following up on this is that Kiffin was pretty much the only SEC coach who jumped at the opportunity to bring these kids in, and all the other coaches are crying because they didn't take advantage of it. They are pretending that they have some moral high ground and that Lane Kiffin is a POS.
I'm loving Kiffin more and more, every day.
