quote:I think it more along the lines of, "Nick, your daddy still doesn't love you... better go win another one."
He'll look in the mirror while brushing his teeth this week, and say "Nick, it's time to move on, aight..back to Process vs Results"

They have a ten ft bronzed statue of all their national title HCs.

I have a cousin married to a Bama grad, have worked for a Bama grad, and had nothing but good experiences when at LSU-Bama games
I've known good people who are Jewish, but I'm not coming out of my drawers with praise for that religion. Good grief.

just look at Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, etc. There are no guarantees anymore.
Notre Dame's academic requirements well known, cold northern school, bad hires, etc..they'll get back one day, but never like before in terms of sustained excellence.
FSU, has all the needed things, in-state talent, facilities, fanbase, money, etc..BB held them back the last decade.
Miami, in-state talent, but lacks the facilities and fanbase, private school..best days are behind them, though may still be great in small windows..sustained dominance is over for the foreseeable future.

Grow up, call it on the square, take off the P&G glasses..give a school their props for a f@cking day.

Not only is the base of the statue already up and left empty the last 18 months after renovations, it is also the closest one next to the stadium entrance. It will be up in 24 hours.

Here's an example of giving an opposing fan/team props: "congrats Tide fans. Great season - you reprented the SEC well. Should be a fun offseason". What you did was more like a reach around. I'm actually a little ashamed for you.

any chance we could hire the statue? We'd at least have a better chance of a player getting his butt chewed after a bonehead play (i.e. offsides, delay, clubbing Andre Woodson in the head and costing us the KY game, etc. etc.)

Can you imagine if we erected a statue of Miles? It would last about 1 night.

They worship at those statues like the ancient Greek did at the Parthenon.

I saw a Bama fan genuflect in front of the Bear's statue a couple of years ago. Caught me completely off-guard.
When I lived in Alabama, I happened to drive by Bear Bryant's grave the day before a big game. There were about 10 Bama fans surrounding his grave praying to him. It was creepy as hell.
