32tigers, I live in central Louisiana and have dish. I called and told them I wanted to move my service address to (Pick a real location in the Baton Rouge DMA and add an apartment # to it) Baton Rouge, but keep my billing address the same. I am now receiving CST.

Make sure to go to the menu on your dish box and press 6-1-1. This will bring you to the point dish screen. Once there make sure the satellite box is on 110 and the transponder box is on 23 and that you have a signal above 25.

People do this all of the time. I refer you to satelliteguys.us. Once there go to the dish forum and do a search on "moving" for more information.

Do u have to move the dish receiver itself to 110 or just set up from the menu?

1) Press menu 6, 1, 1 on your remote control. This will take you to the point dish screen where you set your satellite to 110 and the transponder # to 23 and get a signal reading. If the signal reading is 25 or above you are good to go. If below 25 try at your own risk. The whole purpose of this part is to make sure you are getting a strong enough signal. If you have a good signal move on to step 2.

2)Find a legit address in the Baton Rouge DMA and add an apartment # to it. Example, If you look in the phonebook or online for a Movie Theater in Baton Rouge and find it's address, just add apartment #7 to the theater address.

3) Call Dish and tell them you want to change your service address to the location in step 2, but make sure you keep your billing address where it is presently. If they ask if you need someone to come out and install, tell them there is already one installed. They won't ask, but if they do ask why just the service change and not the billing address tell them your job has you working out of town and you don't want to cancel your subscription. Also, make sure you ask if they have locals (we know they do) and, if so, turn them on.

No hassle, just takes 5 minutes. If you already subscribe to dish you save money on fta equipment.
