I think the biggest challenge he has right now is turning around a culture where mediocrity was accepted. The last few years Manure allowed that to be the poison that weakened the program now Johnson has to eliminate that BS!!

I'm not down on this team, JJ, or the season. But to this point, the '21 team looked a lot better coached than has the '22 version.

I agree ! Not giving up on potential improvements but not booking any hotel rooms in Omaha either.

I got confused honestly. And this is not a troll. I was under the impression that this year’s team was much improved over the 2021 team. With transfers and an added year of experience. Was I wrong ? I was excited for the season to begin and now I’m not sure if there is going to be a serious run this year.

It really depends on what he does in the next four games. If he’s stubborn, like Les Miles, and doesn’t try to switch things up....such as getting Berry off the field and into the DH role and making some moves on the infield....then yes, the honeymoon will be over. I mean, seriously, my grandma can see that Berry doesn’t belong on the field but is a tremendous offensive talent. She’s no longer with us by the way.

Also, move Dugas up in the order. He has been clutch already a few times this season and proved himself last year.

The frustration is that we knew coming in that our pitching woukd have to be sorted out. When the fielding has been so abysmal it complicates that.

Only took 12 games before people tore him a new a------. Lord give the man a break. We are 9-3. Good start for me.It just gets tiresome for all these people that are so focused on perfection. Set back and enjoy the game for a change instead of analyzing every pitch. It gets aggravating to so many fans of the rant. I'll just get ready for the insults.

Yeah and LSU won how many SEC series last year with this team Jay Johnson inherited? Now JJ has had 13 games to figure everything out that Maineri could not figure out in 2 years? Sure thing. I got it.

IMO, SEC looks weaker in 2022 than it has been in awhile. JUst an early observation.

This is somewhere between deflecting and overreacting to the overreaction.

Most of us baseball fans are not anti-JJ in the least. We're just scratching our heads how there could be so much regression in fielding. And any supposed tradeoff for more offense is in the negative column.

CPM coached a long time here. But we have already had 3 or 4 games that were worse fielding than anything I recall under CPM.

I think Jay might have just assumed the defense would remain elite and all he needed to fix was the offense.

That ship has sailed. He’ll figure it out.

It’s amazing to me how everyone wants to crap on this team or certain players and the coach. I don’t think anyone can point to a Video clip where Johnson said anything about going to Omaha this year.

I think most people created these expectation themselves from playing inferior teams. I actually look at this season as I do our next football season. Both teams needed to be retooled, BK and JJ is doing just that. They can’t fix something that’s been broken for a couple years in one season.

Sit back, relax the pitching, fielding, hitting is going to get better. Give the man time to load up with his own players. At that point he is open game.

I’m gonna let him coach his first game against a conference opponent before I start burning my LSU gear and knocking on Woodward’s door.

We lost out in a super-regional just last year. With some pedestrian improvements Omaha shouldn't be out of the picture. Fans who hope for such don't have unrealistic expectations.

Jay has multiple years, there is no pressure.

But Ray Charles could tell you how piss poor that defensive showing was.

Gotta be better than that and if you're not then you have to adjust your lineup to not lose games in the field.

That Baylor loss is concerning to me. Not a long term indication on the program or this season but it was bad enough that I want to see him make some real adjustments.

Also not s huge fan that our Saturday night guy doesn't have a 2nd pitch.

Alwaystgr- that was last year, and there is just not enough pitching on this team to realistically expect this team to make it to Omaha. If they make it, That is great, I just look at this season as a building block.
