Well since you ventured into the possibly get roasted for a dumb question thread I will add onto it:

Is the general public allowed in the trophy room?

You are not going to be allowed into football ops especially on a recruiting weekend.
You need to arrange it with the athletic department.

They do tours, I've brought the Cub Scouts on tours of the basketball facility and they let us shoot on the PMAC goals and go in the practice facility but it was the offesason and I also did a football ops tour as well as a football stadium tour but you have to arrange it ahead of time and certain days and times are off limits.

Makes sense. I have been in that room once in 2008 cuz my brother was a walk on and he took me in there but I had no idea what the rules were.

Got to visit the OPS building a few times as a student.

I had to do an interview for a course at LSU and Dr. Nader happily accepted. After the "15 min" interview (We talked for 1.5 hours) he had an assistant give me a full tour of the entire facility. Met Coach Miles and Meatball, it was awesome.

When I was a collegiate TAF club member I got to go on a tour of Tiger Stadium and the OPS building. Went through the Lawton room, ate some grass, touched the win bar, had snacks in a suite. That was really cool.

The coolest thing though, was when my now wife worked for Doug Aucoin in the video department, and I got to tour the film room. The room is neat, but the storage area was really cool. Hundreds of DVDs and VHS of old tape (it is obviously all digital now) but they had a 5 DVD set for the 2003 Natty with film and game plan breakdowns for OU.
