We put up with the youth excuse from TJ for the last 2 years and he never won a national championship.
PM turned it around after Smoke and he can get it on track again.

I wouldn't go that far. Even a school like LSU has to sign multiple players every year who know good and well they probably aren't going to ever play in the Majors.

I can assure you that the scholarship players at LSU all have the same goal of drawing a check from a MLB team.

Hey - the football team got a nice Cotton Bowl win over that decent A&M team. Was a nice start to the year. However, you are correct. Basketball and Baseball has BOTH sucked BAD. I can tolerate baseball because we have a proven head coach that got us a national championship and he can recruit. TJ still has not even proven he can recruit after 4 years and the team sucks bad.

I don't trust your assurances very much.

Are you aware that D1 baseball schools must give at least 1/3 of a scholarship to all of its up-to-27-players receiving financial assistance?

Do you think Bradshaw or Hanover or Edward or Watkins are playing at LSU to further a realistic goal of making it to the Major Leagues? GTFO.

During this Holiday season, we at the Rant want to pay tribute to the two men who have brought embarrasment to LSU this season. Mr. College HoF himself, Mr. Trent Johnson, and Mr. I am a legend behind the Legend, Paul Maineri.

Could someone please cue up the video by Jim Mora..along the lines of "we suck" we got Our asses kicked " We suck". Thank you gentlemen for your quality leadership this season. Please accept this Golden Rant trophy as a tribute to the crappy teams you put forth this year.

Smoke Laval was my coach in college from 97 to 99, fwiw. Google it and see the talent that Skip Bertman passed on at that time period, and you will figure out why Smoke succeeded Skip at LSU, which further substantiates my original comments in this thread.

Paul M could get this team on a streak with our upcoming schedule however, it better start sooner than later because we are running out of time.

I know its not an excuse but I think this team will turn around we just need to pull in more good recruiting classes.

You shouldn't be in a rebuilding mode 2 years removed a National Championship.

Vandy recruits top players who have the option of signing - just like LSU players. The difference is how Corbin treats those kids during the summer before deciding to sign or or not. For more information on how those players are treated look over on the recruiting board re: Cecchini and Trahan..

Pay close attention to the players Vandy has signed for 2012.. several who till be drafted and several will show up. What WONT happen is they wont be driven away from the school by pressure and threats from the coaches.

I d0 not care how many recruits went to the majors> PM has made major mistakes on betting on players who obviousily are too good for college ball. I see Ray Tanner with a NC and he does not build his team around top 10 draft choices who end up not playing college ball. He goes after the talent that the pros are not interesting in developing but who with good college coaching end up top 3 pro choices in their junior year and have CWS experience. PM will never make that happen. This team has 3 maybe 5 SEC calibar payers and he will not develop any more in the 4 years he has them. He needs to be fired. Cannot do it this year but he should get axed next year when he has similiar results.
