Is the "1st Saturday in November" now one of those college football dates?

I know the last weekend in November is rivalry week, but that's been around forever and is shared by multiple teams. However, first Saturday in November is really about LSU vs Bama and is now and becoming a college football date that everyone looks to before the season starts.

Honestly I can't think of any of Saturday that carries that importance year in and year out. Its easily the most anticipated date and game in the SEC now that is not the last week of the season.

I think folks would look forward to it more often if we actually won

No. If it's even on the same weekend every year, I wasn't aware of it.

True, but I mean more nationwide. I might be wrong, but I think this game has consistently been played on this weekend over the past 10 years while all of our other SEC west games have moved around to different weekends.

Hey dipstick, if we wanted bama fan opinions, we’d go post on the SEC rant

Thanks for the update. I know its been this date often because Bama usually has a bye week before the game which is after the Tenn game. Of course this really means Bama gets 2 bye weeks before LSU.
