Do you really believe that? That Saban would waste a scholarship on someone not likely to be a starter rather than offer someone a scholly who fits a need for his team and could start after a reasonable period? All at the expense of LSU? I don't think Saban loses any sleep over what LSU does.

Bear Bryant was notorious for doing this... Along with sending players to Bobby Bowden . Keeps the competition down

Yeah except that was easier to do when you had unlimited scholarships. I agree with the poster who said that Saban doesn't give a crap about what Les Miles and LSU do outside the week he has to play us.
