Wade Wilson is a crafty veteran. He'll be tough to beat out.

Wilson has outplayed Flynn in every category this preseason. Flynn looked terrible against the Broncos. He will be lucky if he holds onto starting job.

Pete's said from the start that the starting QB job has to be earned by anyone

Also, Carroll loves to talk sh!t about "competition" and creating situations where players have to "compete". He's a dumbass but that's what he does, & Flynn had to know that walking into the situation.

Yeah, how foolish of him to have players compete to be the starting QB.

With that said my money is on Matt

Tho person on that team in seattle who is in trouble is no other than PETE CARROLL. Its his job on the line, and with the way he handles situations, he may not make it of the next season.

I don't think his job is in jeopardy at all. He's done a solid job since he's been there with limited talent. I think Flynn gets the start but neither him or Wilson has any real experience.

Wilson has been a stud so far even if it's only preseason.

Don't doubt that Pete Carrol's butt is on the line if he starts Wilson. The front office went out and payed Matt Flynn money to be the starting quarterback. The team then drafted Wilson to in the 3rd round, not the 1st, with hopes that he could one day become the starter. That one day was not meant to be Game 1 of the first season. If Pete Carrol wants to waste the front office's money and put Matt Flynn on the bench, then Russell Wilson better bet have a season similar to Andy Dalton from last year or else Mr. Rah Rah Coach will be sent back to college.

Matt Flynn has not sucked this preseason. On passes not thrown to Terrell Owens, Flynn is 16/21 with 1 interception.

I suspect that they want to make sure Wilson has the poise to play vs. #1's so that they feel more confident about cutting Tavaris Jackson this week.

Flynn has been studying NFL defenses for years. No way he is not the starter week one.

Pete is a dumbass with a big ego. All the speculation may cause him to say frick everybody I'm playing Wilson.

If this is true, then Pete Carroll is an even bigger dumbarse. Matt Flynn is not in the same position as Tom Brady. Brady has quarterbacked New England for about 11 years now. The system revolves around him, and he and all of his receivers are locked in. Matt Flynn is in a totally new system with receivers that he has never worked with before. He needs all of the preseason reps with the 1's that he can get so that they will be as sharp as possible for game 1.

From what I've been hearing on the radio, Pete Carroll is seriously considering starting Russell Wilson in the first regular season game. I hope it gets Petey fired.

The NFL and the nation have become obsessed with rookie starting quarterbacks.

Honestly, if this goes beyond the usual smokescreen of motivation, then he's a complete idiot. Carroll is involved in personnel decisions in Seattle, and his front office just laid down $25 million for a new QB and he's going to bench that QB before they play an actual game? That is an unconscionably stupid way to run a franchise.

It's one thing to bench the new free agent QB after a period of ineffectiveness, like Kolb in Arizona, but to do it right out the gate is just sabotaging your new QB. Seattle would have been better off to just set the money on fire. It's terrible decision making. If I were the owner, I'd fire both my GM and coach for being so stupid and unable to work together. It's a systemic problem that goes beyond your QB.
