This used to be the rule but it was changed. At least it has for the supers and I thought it did for regionals too. The 2019 Super regional LSU was the away team in game 2 using their usual home dugout.

I do now. I replied back to the guy. Apparently there is no tradition in baseball above little league with dugout assignment. My experiences primarily were in places that all had the third base dugout as the home dugout (Only been to the box a couple of times). You are incorrect in your assessment here. The host team is allowed to use their preferred dugout whether designated home or visitor. Competitive advantage only comes into play of the venue has non-compliant areas that create that advantage.

dugout over the other, the host institution would not be allowed to remain in its preferred dugout if it is
