Since we are dreaming, let's bring up all of the rumored near misses the last few basketball hires.

Tom Crean and Tony Bennett mentioned, hired Trent Johnson
Jamie Dixon and Tommy Amaker mentioned, hired JJ

frick it, I'm riding for Josh Pastner at this point.

I would hire the guy that does the CSAL write ups over Johnny.

Johnny does seem like a great guy and all but this has just been a massive failure

Wasn't pastner mentioned last time around? I am assuming the temple mafia will have a local guy they will pressure alleva to hire.

Yes Pastner was mentioned and the rant hated the idea. I think most were still holding out hope for coach k.

We're either going to go with a re tread willing to work for peanuts for another shot or we need to way overpay for an up and comer.

Amaker turned down LSU's offer to interview last time around. I guess that he felt better about his Harvard gig than the LSU job.

I would love Crean. If Dwight Schrute were a basketball coach...

Probably didn't want to interview for a job knowing he'd lose out to Johnny Jones. That'd be embarrassing. That search was a bigger sham than the O hire.

Harvard: 3 conference titles, 2-3 in NCAA Tournament
0 NBA players drafted

LSU: 0 conference titles, 0-1 in NCAA Tournament, 1-1 in NIT.
4 NBA Players drafted

You probably believe Alleva had Jimbo signed to a deal and was vetoed. None of those guys were ever going to be coaching at LSU.

I'm not even going to bother pondering names that would excite me, I won't let Alleva break my heart again
