If he wins the battle and is the best QB, yes.

My money is if he doesn't start the season as our starter he will be our starter by the end. I mean a little over 3 months is not much time to learn the playbook but he already has the reps so I say 50/50 on him starting the first game.

No but obviously yes. It’s not guaranteed but he’s years (literally) ahead of the other guys. In two years they’ll be mentally and physically ready to dominate if they don’t transfer. We could be setup at the position for 4 years.

im Sure he was offered the job, why the hell would he have come here if not. They will call it a competition but from watching spring games by all he is way more accurate than any about qb we have.

Yes. He didn’t come to LSU to sit the bench. He will start

He will just be here competing like the other QB's..he'll have to win the job.

I'm sure he'll have to "compete" for the starting spot.

And by "compete," I mean, "show up."

I would like to see his signing mark the beginning of the end of the total QB drought that LSU has had for so very long.

Am curious how Coach O handled this. He’s big on honesty and has a policy that no job is given, each one is earned.

Think he broke his policy with Burrow, or flat out said that he’s confident Burrow will legitimately beat out the other 3?

Neither did the others. He hasn’t proven he is the best in an LSU uniform yet. Competition will make everyone better though.

I should hope so.

I think Orgeron will feel pressure to start him no matter what. Burrow is the first QB that's "his guy."

if doesn't get hurt, it is a foregone conclusion. I'm not critical of the qbs we have, but they aren't anywhere near Burrows.

Nope. He was brought in to hold the ball for field goals. We coming!

When he walks on campus he’s better than the others He will start game one. He wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t going to start.

I imagine that there will be competition during which Burrow will separate himself very quickly. If not, then there will be no joy in Mudville...
