Nothing alike? Really? I'm not saying they are carbon copies, but they are pretty similar.

I watch some, that's why I question Simmons potential in the NBA to be a superstar type player

Usually with the #1 first player picked to be able to jump right in and contribute while also having superstar potential

With a deadly jump shot (like a Dirk Nowitzki) could be as good as Dirk. But that is a big if since he at this time has zero jump shot ability from beyond 6 feet. Plus Nowitzki is way more physical and tough.

LeBron is, and even in college been, a big strong athletic intense physical player, Simmons is none of those things. Simmons is more of a heady finesse type player.

He wont stay another year but Espn in studio former coach said something that caught my ears when He said Ben has that Aussie demeanor and not that rough streets Dawg in him demeanor. He damn near called Ben soft.

Dirk is the prototype stretch 4. Ben is a point forward. Those are two fundamentally different roles on the basketball court.

I would say that Ben is more like Anthony Davis..... but then again Davis can shoot from the outside. Simmons will be top 3 in the draft for sure, but i dont think he will go #1. Buddy Hield from OU is a good player and could go in front of Simmons. We will see in the coming weeks with OU coming to town.

Hield's age will keep him from being #1 overall. Same story as Lillard.

Hield's age could keep him from #1 pick, but he did it the right way by developing in college.

Ben might find a role in the NBA but he won't be another Anthony DaAvis, Dirk Nowvizky, or Lebron James.

But if he develops a really great jump shot he could be like a really tall Steph Curry. Both play a very heady style of basketball while not being the most athletic players on the court.

There are a lot more examples of players developing in the NBA over their first three years rather than staying college. Learning from the pros on a full time basis instead of splitting time with class isn't even a close choice.
