Article about UGA CB

The article is about a UGA CB they think is poised for a breakout year, however, this tidbit was interesting to me:

quote:

Against Texas’ Collin Johnson, easily Stokes’ toughest matchup of the 2018 season, the UGA standout allowed just three receptions on five targets for 40 yards and one first down.

So again this UGA guy, who isn't as good as Fulton, probably not Stingley as well, shut down Collin Johnson. Ehlinger attempted 28 passes, only 5 to Colin Johnson and he caught 3 of them for 40 yards, 0 TD. One of Johnson's worst performances all year.

Good luck, Mr. Johnson. you'll need it vs. Fulton and Stingley.

Humphrey was the “go to” receiver for Ehlinger in 2018. In 2019 that will be Johnson, but I still don’t think he will be great vs LSU secondary. Probably one TD but under 100 yards receiving.

Johnson still had 1000 yards receiving last year, this was one of his worst games from a stat point of view. My point was he clearly struggled some vs. a very good corner, and we got 2 very good corners.

Eh it's not about ability with Johnson, his sheer size makes him a match up problem either way.

Fulton and Stingley can easily stick with him in coverage but if he high points a well placed ball there's not much to be done.

Just gotta hope we can limit the damage.

It may be hard to throw an accurate high point pass with K'Lavon bearing down on you all afternoon.

He got 1000 yards against those defenses in his conference.

You know ...........the ones that actually dont care anything about playing defense. We will see.
