North Carolina was a head scratcher. Tech actually rushed for 326 yards against NC (plus they had nearly 100 yards passing) but had several costly turnovers at the worst times.
They also had several key injuries which led to penalties, etc.
The game was much closer than the score as Carolina got a couple of late ones in the 4th when we had key injuries and the turnovers.

Turnovers are a bitch. We've had 1 or 2 this year.

When Tech has managed to hold onto the ball, they've done well. When they haven't, it's been fatal (VA Tech, VA, and North Carolina).

I would also say that GA Tech has gone through their entire offensive line this year. Lost all of their starters due to injuries, including their stud preseason All American candidate Andrew Gardner.
It was bad enough all of them had to learn brand new techniques, but then we had players with little to no experience on the field, even some walk ons towards the end of the year.

I never thought Ga Tech was interesting in any way.

Why you gotta hate on Auburn?

Then they lost all but one of their starting DB's (Safety Morgan Burnett). We ended up with two true freshmen and two true sophomores back there at the end of the year...really hurt against some of the better passing teams.
We also lost most of our linebacking corps. The only stable spot was our defensive line, and the last 2 games we lost one of our studs Vance Walker (preseason AA).
Paul Johnson held them together with chewing gum and a string towards the end of the year.

Georgia Tech does have the best college fight song.

Auburn fans didn't like GA Tech too much when we beat them the last two (count them two) times we played them, and were rather "vocal" about it on our boards...

I'm still shocked you beat us in 2005, but the 2003 game was no surprise. At the start of that season we wouldn't have had the offense to beat anybody.

See my post on The Hive. This board is very busy, but it's a mixed bag if you're on the opposing side. Roll with it!

We'll trade you straight up. Deal?
Tech would probably trade women with any DI-A school, sight unseen ... maybe even any school with a scholarship football team period.
There must be schools worse off. At least you've got Southern women for the most part!

And we'd even throw in some Varsity dogs, onion rings, and a jumbo FO

Interesting thing that Ga Tech, and many LSU fans may not know. We used to have a saying that went to the tune of Ramblin Wreck. It went something like:
To hell with Mississippi. To hell with Tulane too, and if you don't like the Tigers then to hell to hell with you.

Well, you know, with Patrick Nix calling all of the Offensive plays for us, you should have known you'd have lost. That man is an offensive genius. It's a real shame that Chan Gailey played not to lose instead of to win; he really handcuffed Nix.

What's the difference between "brand new" and just "new"?

Posted on 12/8/08 at 4:32 pm to LSURussian
The difference in new and brand new is a pro-style (like everybody else) and the triple option (like nobody else).
If it was a new offense, it would be like some nuances being installed, like some bubble screens, or some new draw plays, but all out of the same formations. In this case, the entire offensive schemes were changed, so the "brand" was also changed from pro-style to the triple option.
(how's that for being fast on my feet)

Interesting post. That stuff is pretty impressive, except the thing about ya'll passing too. Ya'll are one dimensional
