Very interesting documentary that lays out the needs, challenges, and how far behind we are. The US has lost so much skill and manufacturing ability. We are now faced with asking South Korea to invest in US shipyards and to teach us how to quickly manufacture large ships. Most of this documentary and interviews are at Austal Shipyard in Mobile. I see a need for a lot more foundries and shipbuilding capacity along the gulf to meet the current administration’s goals.

Aren’t they building some of those drone ships?
Whatever the drone ship program is called, it’s a fantastic idea of government procurement. They picked 3-4 companies to produce up to 150’ vessels to do all sorts of missions.

We’re lucky for the South Koreans. They’re very bullish on the U.S.
