I do wonder, however, how LSU fans would feel if they beat Ole Miss, and the Cap 1 picked Ole Miss anyway.
If Ole Miss had the better record and was ranked higher it wouldn't bother me at all.

Yeah they can pick Ole Miss or they can pick the ranked team with a better record that isn't coming off of a loss. My point is there isn't much of a choice.

Or that the Sugar bowl is forced to take the loser.
Not true. SECCG loser is only forced to the BCS if there is an automatic qualifier. The Sugar Bowl doesn't have to take them at all, unless they have the last pick and they are an automatic qualifier.

... an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.
If #1-3 are auto-qualifiers, then #4 would get an automatic bid instead if they aren't an auto-qualifier.
So, the SECCG loser is only an automatic qualifier if they are ranked #3 (or #4 if #1-3 are auto-qualifiers).
This year, the selection process will likely be:
Sugar (for SEC Champ),
Fiesta (for Texas),
Fiesta,
Sugar,
Orange
The Sugar is only obligated to the SEC Champion. They have a PREFERENCE (like the Rose Bowl) for their traditional tie-ins, but are not obligated to take an SEC team if one is in the BCSCG.

I agree. The only way a team in Ole Miss' position would get chosen is if they were the better money/travel team.

I hate OM, but their fans were very excited about the possibility of goin to the Cap One bowl. OM fans were goin to travel very well for that bowl had they gotten in. Better than LSU? Doubt it... But we do have quite a few fans that still want Miles gone, and I think some LSU fans not goin to the bowl because of this.

FAIL.
1. OM did not "dominate" us. Fer chris' sake.
2. The CapOne is basically set up by agreements to take SEC #3.
LSU is SEC #3. How is that "forced" .
3. The 'ol "they beat them, but we beat the guys that beat them,
but they lost to the team that beat the team that lost to"..blah
blah etc etc is really tired old meaningless bullshite . LSU has a
better record. They finished 3rd in SEC . Ahead of OM. Period.

Maybe they were looking for their own Klan get together. Have you even seen the Porky's movies?

I meant more of a slam dunk difference. I think the only team in the SEC that travels poorly is Vandy. If Vandy made a Cap One Bowl, even they'd come out of the woodwork.
It looks like the bowls are already locking up teams, so our announcement should come sooner rather than later.

well, I'd think that they'd be happier with the team whose fans travel well and spend more money... and that isn't Ol'Misses....
Not so fast my friend- take the glasses off. Ole Miss put about 40 thousand butts in the Cotton Bowl last year

C'mon people. Too sensitive. There are a minority of LSU fans that actually think LSU is a very good team. The national outlook on lSU is far worse. Don't blame the messenger, its the truth. Not many think LSU, despite its record is a very good team.

Dude. It's not that big of a deal. First off, LSU was just there a few years ago. The fans are actually down despite our record, and although we'll travel, I don't believe Ole Miss had ever been to the capital one bowl before.
You have to realize they are looking for a really energetic hyped of Ole Miss team and fans. LSU's will travel well, but don't expect them to be super-hyped.

You don't live in Orlando and are subjected to the daily Slantinel crap and all these arrogant Gator fans.
+1 on that.
It makes it even better because now my son and I may be close enough to attend the game (we live in Rockledge, FL, not far from Orlando).

That mean ole Sentinel said "forced" instead of some other word!

You MFers read way too far into petty bullshite.

Let's say your city has a bowl.
Let's say you are a sportswriter and you have to cover that bowl.
Would you want to cover the 108th offense in the country? I know the colors purple and gold are awesome to look at. And LSU is dropping with tradition. And we have a talented team.
But, really, the product on the field, once you filter all our talent through our coaching, is not very appealing.
That's a fact.

No, actually there's video of people leaving the stadium
LSU's TV ratings are down.
Opinion would be my thoughts.
But when I see that offense on the field, with ten players on their first series, after the Ole Miss game, my stomach starts to turn.
And my stomach don't lie.
That's a fact.
