I know I'm going to get flamed on by all the "fans" who want to fire Miles because he is not Saban, but just consider this. I'll hang up and listen after.

2008 and 2009 are the years in which we harvested the seeds sown from the recruiting class of 2005 and 2006. While it is well documented that we lost RP, leaving us high and dry for a QB, what no one else has acknowledged is that these were the years which the upper classmen were from the recruiting classes that Miles was recruiting as a transitional coach. Kids have to be recruited for their junior and senior year and Miles' first two classes did not fill the needs of the team and have the overall quality that 2007, 2008 and 2009 had. He also was forced to coach with what Saban had left him, whether or not they fit his philosophy. 2010 and 2011 will be years where he will have fully recruited the talent on his team.

It took me a long time to come around on Miles, but his recruiting has been superb. If he can't hack it in 2010 and 2011, I will probably jump ship on him.

So he hasn't produced results from two recruiting classes, so we should give him an additional two years?

Makes perfect sense!

I've been saying this for about three years now. I stopped bringing it up because I do not enjoy being ridiculed.

"Forced" to coach all that NFL talent, and still managed to lose at least 2 SEC games every year? I know we've had QB problems, but we've had other problems too.

The Rant rarely if ever follows recruiting. According to them our talent is either equal or superior to Florida, Alabama, USC, etc. every single year at almost every single position.

Plus, at no point in your post did you question Miles or call him a name. With that being said, it's not much of a surpirse the Rant doesn't have much to say.

I agree that you are right about the 05 class but the 06 class is upperclassman and the results speak for themselves. also much of the 06 class is no longer on the team and thats miles's fault.

This is often overlooked, the assumption being that Saban left him great players. The 2005 recruiting class was highly affected by Saban leaving and recruits not knowing Miles.

i follow recruiting as close as you do flask and he has failed to fill needs. plain and simple. and how did the recruits saban left not fit his system? its not like we do some exotic scheme on either offense or defense. how do they not fit?

So it Les' fault that Some of the 06 players broke the law and were kicked off?

Of course its Les' fault. Why wouldnt it be? He recruited them and brought them in to LSU and ask them to represent him and the University.

this is somewhat reasonable.

miles will definitely get 2010 to light it up. we absolutely should--there can be no excuses.

2011-- we'll see.

Yes we have, and Miles has done a good job fixing them. For example, Defense was horrible in 08 because of the people he hired. So, immediatly after the season, he went out and got a good coordinator. This year, Defense is MUCH better. He evaluated a problem, and went out and fixed it. Then this year, things went bad with the offense. So he will evaluate it and get another coordinator. So next year, we will have an even better defense, a more experienced QB, and hopefully a better offense as a whole. Im not saying I have COMPLETE faith that he will fix the offense next season, but I am deffinatly not going to call for his head after just one or two bad seasons

Miles cannot manage a basic clock situation let alone coach/recruit whatever with the likes of Satan, I mean Saban. I hate it, but to this point there is no question that Saban is, er, miles better....

And of course this statement is based on more than the last two years of college football...
