Last years Alabama and LSU would go down as one of the most talented too except for the fact that they actually had competition during the season. If Alabama weren't so good, LSU would have looked unstoppable. If LSU weren't so good, Alabama would have looked unstoppable. It's all perception. 1995 Nebraska was a great team, but you make them out to be superheroes, when really, they were just a great team with no competition.

2012 Bama is an excellent team, but they're no 79 USC. And 2012 LSU is much, much better than 79 LSU. We have every chance to win this thing. That's why you play the game. Roll the ball out there and see what happens.

Using that criteria they're (2012 Bama) no '79 Bama either seeing as Alabama, not USC won the national title in 1979.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts on Bama. They're beatable.

'79 had great talent...and future talent in the Pros but wasn't a "greatest team" college production...1972 USC had far more All-Americans.

1972 USC blew everyone out (including destroying #3 Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.)

1979 tied Stanford, beat Washington by a TD and Cal by 10 points and beat Ohio State by 1 point in the Rose Bowl.

Nebraska 95 was the best ever, not even close.
