When FSU called a timeout to ice Ramos right before halftime, you could tell the production crew really thought hard about going to a commercial break. They zoomed out from the stadium, announcers went awkwardly silent, etc.

I was like.. are these frickers really about to run a commercial with 4 seconds left in the half?!?

They wound up going back to the announcers and BS’ing during the timeout instead but I was about to throw my remote.

I know the play count wasn’t that much different than last year, but it still seemed to me like there were an awful lot of commercials for a game in which neither team even called a timeout during the second half. Of course that’s entirely anecdotal and unscientific. Would love to see some real stats on average game length vs. commercial time compared to last year once we get a bit further into the season.

Take the points, especially if you lose the toss and receive the 1st half.
