This is stupid to make a thread about, but I kind of agree about offensive gameplan, not quarterback selection.

2008 we had a shitty defense so we opened up an aggressive offense to try and score more points. That was the only way we could win. (and throw 4,529 pick 6's)

Other years, like 2011, we played to limit turnover risk, relied on a stout running game, safer passes, and a ridiculous defense.

This year is more like 2008 than 2011. I don't know if the QB situation would be different though, as the defense didn't have anything to do with one of the worst quarters in LSU QB history against New Mexico St.

I think Harris was going to be the guy eventually anyway, but sure, maybe the shitastic defense sped along that process.

ETA:

So this guy isn't completely wrong, he just phrased his opinion moronically.

If we had a stout D like in 2011, AJ would be starting.

AJ isn't starting because AJ couldn't take care of the ball against new mexico state and BH came in and threw 3 TD's and ran for another 2.

That is why AJ isn't starting.

Les doesn't tolerate turnovers. he did for the first quarter with jennings just long enough that jennings led a TD drive. then he was pulled. i think jennings lost his job in the 2nd quarter last week and i've been saying it ever since.

I'm with ya Jimmy. Harris has the greater chance to score more points, but also with the risk of more turnovers, that could lead to the other team scoring more points as well. If the D is not able to stop the other team from scoring anyway, then the possibility of turnovers is something you're will to risk to keep up.

I'm also sure AJ performed better in practice and the coaches figured he would manage the game better than he has.

The we get to the NMST game, with the fans calling for Harris to get the start. Therefore, AJ believes he needs to make more plays to keep he's starting role, ultimately leading to INT's on throws that he is not able to make.
